Going Down Hill
When I first started loved what I did and the people I worked with but eventually the work environment was kind of tense and then the environment period (work conditions: who thought it was a good idea to put a warehouse with no A/C in Atlanta?!) was not conducive to all the work we had to do. I no longer work there (left in 2016 after only two years), I hear they aren’t doing too well.
Pros
Location, hours
Cons
Losing money, office politics

Good commute, decent benefits, people are cool and management seems to care about the employees. Decent vacation time and paid sick days are good, pay could always be higher.
Pros
close to home, early Fridays, cool people
Cons
Pay's not the highest. Monday & Tuesday are busy!

Company is real outdated
The company is out dated when it comes to innovations. Reporting has too many paper trails need to be an advance and computer knowledge. They need to really invest in IT
Pros
I really a lot of good people.
Cons
How did innovations, I need to really upgrade their IT and innovations such as ERP

Very political
You either fit in or you don't. If you do, you'll love it. The "in" people, who go along to get along, will be fine. Just don't plan on any individuality being welcome.
Pros
Decent money
Cons
Company politics

It was good for benefits
I have many years in retail picture framing so I was already familiar with the products. Enjoyed the fast paced work environment. Direct facility management turned over often which led to time consuming policy changes that affected team members.

Terrible communication, downsizing, Sink or swim !
Once upon a time there was a glorious leader in the framing industry called Larson Juhl. All the competitors in the framing industry wanted to be like Larson Juhl. The Norcross office was like a beautiful castle, with fountains, artwork and happy, smiling employees. This once fairy tale company to work for, has become an outdated nightmare. The only smiles are fake smiles, behind all the unhappy faces. The communication is beyond lacking. There have been so many people that have been laid off / quit. It is hard to keep up with who is still there, or who does what anymore. Each day you have to mentally prepare yourself for more changes, usually bad news. You never know when you will be part of the downsizing. When you work here, you have to make a decision whether you are willing to sink or just swim away.

The management in the Customer Service center is a joke! They have someone training new hires, that needs to be trained themselves. One that walks around chatting/gossiping with her friends, but pretends she knows what she is doing. Thankfully there is 1 lead that is picking up the slack, and has the knowledge to help. It does not matter how much you know anyway, as all the new hires are paid more then others who have been there longer. They are younger, and they have a degree. That is apparently a more valuable asset to the department / company now, then years of knowledge. Out with the old, in with the new. It is insulting to say the least.
Pros
Discounts on framing, nice break room
Cons
Job security, management, lack of communication

Great supportive, high energy work environment.
Larson-Juhl was, by far, the best employment experience I have had. The management was genuinely invested in the team's safety and career trajectory.
Pros
Monthly free lunches, great benefits, product discounts
Cons

was a good company to work for
Used to be a great company to work for but was sold and went downhill. Started to care about profit more then the people that had been there for a long time. Micro management.

Management has selective preferences on employees and play favoritism 100%. Especially the current manager, he is an incompetent idiot
Manager retaliates on any employee that shows any signs of self empowerment and makes it his goal to get them terminated by falsifying information just to get his way. He looks down upon others as though they are not worthy of his presence.
Pros
The coworkers there were cool
Cons
Everything else, ESPECIALLY management a.k.a. Manager

Glory Days Long Long Gone.
Company was in its glory years ago, but failed to remain the industry leader it once was. Gross failures occurred in not seeing industry / marketplace changes coming and inability for management (then and now) to make intelligent decisions in time.
Many other picture frame moulding companies have gobbled up customers due to their comparable or better designs at better pricing.

Larson-Juhl has been really struggling for 8+ years and the corporate office is half-empty after many employee layoffs over the past 3-4 years

Staff seem so discouraged and grim. The once magnificent building and decor ( that gleamed in around 1990) is now outdated, uncomfortable and shabby. Entrance fountains don’t work and now breed mosquitoes instead. Computer systems are antiquated. We all seem to fake smiles to hide the turmoil of working at this sad, badly-managed, outdated relic.

Gossip, rumor and finger-pointing occur as people try to save themselves from being let go from this possible sinking ship. So the once-esteemed values just don’t seem to be reflected in the culture anymore.
Pros
Free parking, company keeps trying new things.. but keeps failing.
Cons
Not near public transportation, feels grim, negative environment to work in.

Stressful, manager is clueless . Lakeland Fl
Terrible place to work . Training is minimum to none .
The manager is absolutely clueless as to how to run the place . Long hours from Monday to Thursday then your hours are cut on Friday so no compensation after all the hard work.

The manager has unrealistic expectations and will let you go for no reason .

Great People, Poor Leadership & Vision
Larson-Juhl is a company with outstanding associates and people. The biggest issue with the company is poor leadership. This company was once the poster child for the framing industry. Unfortunately, now this place is a sinking ship. The company has experienced declining sales for the past 5 years and tons of layoffs. If you are looking for a job without security or direction this is the place for you. If you are looking for stability and high employee moral run from this place. The company overall has great potential but the leadership team doesn't have a clue. With all of that being said if you are laid off the company will take care of you with a decent package.
Pros
Good People
Cons
Bad Leadership, Bad Strategy, Bad Vision

Dying industry
It is in a dying industry with a few competitors that have caught up to their standards and in some cases surpassed them. It is a situation of trying not to lose instead of trying to win.

If you get an interview the manager will seem nice. Thid will be the only time he will ever be nice to you. Everyone hates their life there. Lots of favoritesim. If you get this job its likely you sill be let go in the first 90 days fue to all that were stated above.
