Our mission is to provide the highest quality psychiatric and behavioral care to the meet the needs of the children and families we serve. Laurel Heights specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with complex psychiatric and behavioral problems. The facility offers several residential treatment units separated by age and gender, a separate residential program for children with autism and a specialty acute inpatient unit for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Our staff of behavioral health specialists includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, medical staff, clinicians, behavior analysts, a psychologist, recreation therapists, educators and allied health professionals who assess the needs of each child and with input from the family develop an individualized treatment plan. Laurel Heights also offers a wide range of activities geared to develop self-awareness, creativity, self-management, volunteerism and leisure life skills.

Laurel Heights specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents with complex psychiatric and behavioral problems. In addition to treating patients with general psychiatric difficulties and trauma, Laurel Heights also has specialty mental health programs for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our services are offered within several separate programs.
Laurel Heights Hospital’s inpatient acute program is designed to effectively treat the psychiatric crisis of children and adolescents who present with a co-occurring Autism Spectrum Disorder or other neuro-developmental disorders. Stabilization of symptoms, including mood instability, self-injury, suicidal behavior or severe aggression, is accomplished through data-driven clinical collaboration between Child & Adolescent Board Certified Psychiatrists, Behavioral Analysts, Licensed Therapists and Certified Special Education Teachers, to meet the medical, psychiatric, social and academic needs of the patients.
