A typical day at work consisted of opening the office. I oversaw 322 apartment s along with the Property Manager. Made cookies and coffee if leasing agents did not prepare it. checked all messages from previous day. A/R and A/P, purchase orders. Opened mail and sorted, answer phones and schedule appointments for leasing department, processed checks during rent time, reports every morning and every night. Over saw the maintenance men. Worked with vendors to make sure work was done. The hardest part of my job was getting yelled at or had a resident swear at you because of the previous manager. My co-workers there was one person the Property manager that was hard to get along with. He micro managed me, which I did not like. The maintenance department was hard to get along with they did not want to listen they had there own minds made up to do what they wanted, The most enjoyable part was working with some of my leasing agents and training them. When I asked for a transfer due to the commute I went back to the place I originally started out at and they did not have a position available as an assistant manager so they put me in leasing where I had to lease from a chair.
