Stay away from Solar
Employee (Former Employee) –  Huntsville, ALFebruary 12, 2019
Think twice if you are considering applying for a position with the Solar facility in Huntsville, AL. Your offer letter may say 6 days a week but that will quickly turn into 7. They will give you a list a holidays that they close for only to find out that they require you to work them. There is no work life balance as they like to promote. Salaried positions are expected to work more than 8 hours a day and plus weekends and take phone calls all hours of the day and night. They force and expect you to follow the Korean culture of work first and everything else second. To them, work is more important than family and you are expected to feel the same and you are looked down upon if you feel differently. Turn over is high and will be higher once production is a full capacity. There is no advancement opportunities unless you are Korean. Benefits are great but that is how they try to sell it to get you in.

Lol
Salary Employee (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNJanuary 15, 2019
The LG Factory is laughable in terms of of employment. The pay is decent for salaried employees, but the hourly workers that are the backbone of the labor force are continually worked well past their scheduled shift with little notice to make arrangements. The Korean Management, as well as the HR Director are under the assumption that Americans think it would be an honor and a privilege to work for LG. They simply do not understand that that is not the case for the hourly wages they are paying. The American management team members that were qualified and skilled for their positions have either already left for more beneficial careers or else are searching desperately. There is no regard to the American values or our working culture from the Korean members of management. All concerns mentioned by anyone who is not from Korea fall on deaf ears. The Korean members also forge reports to send to their higher ups in Korea to make themselves look better. It is incredibly funny though when the senior executives from Korea arrive at our facility and discover that the situations are not anything like they have been told.

Stress Overload
Key Accounts Management Specialist (Former Employee) –  Huntsville, ALSeptember 21, 2018
The compensation is not equal to the abuse taken from customer or the lack of security from management. HR is not supportive and managers have favorites that they look the other way for. The people are wonderful and it is a very family feeling environment! I think due to the need to support each other from a very unstable environment and job security. The environment is odd in that they claim to be EEO but only Koreans seem to get ahead. Whites are totally in the minority at LG. My advice is stay away far away!

No Regard for the Human Side
Salaried Professional (Former Employee) –  Clarksville, TNDecember 28, 2018
Many hired, including myself, had envisioned something completely different than what is reality at this facility. There was no attempt by the Korean leadership to learn how to best manage an American work force. Many policies are still not established, and the policies that have been are not administered consistently. The HR Director unfortunately only has regard for himself, not the employees. This venture for LG was poorly planned and has shed a negative light on the brand in Clarksville, TN.

If you are considering leaving a position to join LG at this location, think it through. A clear picture is not presented.

Good Job until you can find better
Assembler /Quality (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNJanuary 29, 2019
This Job is not meant for people who have a family or life outside of work. You will work a lot of unnecessary mandatory overtime. They won’t tell you until a few minutes before you get off, if they tell you at all and will point you if you have to leave. Most of the time When you work over time, you stand around for 2 hrs anyways because the machines obviously feels like it’s working too much too. Lg is slow to give raises and who ever lied and said pay is $16 for an assembler.. ha! Its starts at $12 and tops out at $14 and some change. A plus is that you get free medical, dental, and vision but the negative is that you work so much that you can’t use it. You get 5 days of PTO for all year... that’s it! That’s about 3 hours a month that you get for PTO. So forget your kids and your health because LG is more important. You are only allowed to accumulate 4.5 points because at 5 points you are fired... your points do not fall off until after a year.. be warned so you are not trapped in a job. Don’t pick this job over another offer because you will be upset.

Beware
Painter/Laborer (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNJanuary 31, 2019
Beware!!! Do not be fooled! The benefits are good but you will not get to use them often. The most unorganized manufacturing plant I have ever worked. The management is very poor from the hr to the supervisors. Favorites are obvious but on the bright side you dont have to possess any skills to be a lead or supervisor.Just know how to kiss a lot of butt and rat on fellow co-workers. For most this job is not design to keep workers too long. They prefer bringing temporary workers ( cheap labor) to work. If you are thinking about working at lg do your homework first.....Ask questions!!!!

Unprofessional workplace poor management/HR Department
Employee (Current Employee) –  Clarksville, TNJanuary 7, 2019
Clarksville LG factory is a poorly functional plant. I was apart of this factory from the beginning. I have jeopardized my safety many times working for this company, There mentality is you get the job done regardless of safety. OSHA needs to investigate. They do not pay fare wages everyones pay is different in same departments. They won’t pay for experienced employees. Most employees in management have no previous experience. The HR department is the worst. They do not care about discrimination, bullying, favoritism or harassment. The policy’s are non consistent (non existent for some). No consistency or equalism. Some are allowed sick days, vacation, and no attendance with out points, others in same departments are not. Most of the supervisors have no experience being management, they lack little to no training on managing a work force and dealing with individuals. Each department does what they want and they don’t follow protocols. The environment is stressful and chaotic.

Direct Mobile Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Huntsville, ALDecember 3, 2018
Start early and download the route-list and schedule. Very bad routing for the projects and drive a lot in every direction possible. Complete at-least 8 calls and if you miss it gets added on the next day and cut your productivity. Employee is monitored from central control in Huntsville Alabama on the clock.

Treat employees unfair
Executive Services (Former Employee) –  Huntsville, ALJuly 14, 2018
LG don't treat the workers fair. HR don't care about anyone but management. If you report anything on the your management to HR, they will go back and tell your manager and you will end up fired. If you're black, you will never move up with the company.

At first I thought that LG would be a great company to work for. The problem is the people they have running the company. The HR department is the worst I have been apart of. No one's business is kept confidential. They talk just as must as the associates on the production floor. And the head of HR doesn't know anything about HR..the company doesnt have any direction as to where it is going..think twice before you make a move to this company..
