I would make sure all of my employees had the same level and quality of training. There needs to be some accountability as well. No more finger pointing or letting things slid. Rules and procedures are there for a reason, everyone should have to follow all of them.

Hiring process includes meeting with lead store manager and district manager. Once you get a call back you’ll fill out an application and hey usually hire you without a second interview. The orientation process includes two weeks of computer training which is not very helpful as far as knowing your job but it does inform you on company policies and procedures. The last two weeks of orientation include shadowing another manager and working in your position on the sales floor. You do not have responsibility for a month while being trained so any mistake that you make isn’t counted against you; however, if you make the same mistake more twice once you might be let go before training ends. They take tardiness, lack of effort to follow up on customer concerns or questions, and balancing a cash register very seriously.

I left because I was working full time hours as a part time(and only) employee for three months. I had no direction and poor communication with the managers there. I was left to fend for myself and then told about mistakes I had made that I had asked for help with. Any ounce of passion I had for my job was gone.
