You often see a lot of patients quickly and have to usually refer patients out to other non-profit services if that aren't available in house. Patients can easily fall through the cracks at those points.
This place was fantastic under the previous CEO. Now all the good employees, including everyone in Human Resources plus their own lawyer, have left. They have a great mission but can no longer do good work because of how toxic the work environment has become.
really diverse, woman-led workplace culture. work can be tough and i felt burnt out sometimes, but the pay was decent...could be better. job advancement and coaching was good if you're a young medical professional looking to have a little more flexibility.
Working as front desk, the work tasks are the same everyday. The work load can vary depending how many in-person appointments are scheduled. It can be stressful but isthmus can manageable. It’s harder to work when people call out a lot or there’s no communication between supervisors and front desk.
Work-life balance is very important to Lifelong, so they respect most, if not all, scheduling requests. Pay is a little higher than most FQHC's, and benefits are okay for regular employees; staff turnover is also lower than most FQHC's. The work is not easy, but definitely a good learning experience. Unfortunately, management is very disorganized, despite the best efforts by some genuinely good managers. Perpetually understaffed, and no one gets paid enough for the work they do.
