Fun Place To Work
Account Manager- Commercial Sales (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXJanuary 11, 2018
Really great and fun place to work. People tend to stay here bc of the perks. Management is nice, the after hours parties are fun. It's a great work space located conveniently central.
Pros
Amazing food.
Cons
Quotas and Sales Leadership not aligned.

Fun Technology Nice People Poor Management
Senior Sales Engineer (Former Employee) –  Worked from HomeAugust 15, 2017
Lifesize has fun interesting technology and the people are very nice. The culture is inclusive and engaging. They have a good benefits package but unfortunately all of these positives are ruined by a management team that is constantly making bad decisions that adversely effect the customers and the employees.
Pros
Great technology and nice people
Cons
Poor Management that makes poor market decisions

Undermanned and Overworked
Support Technician I (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXApril 21, 2017
The day to day job is not that bad, but management will not hire a workforce large enough to make the support group a growing environment. Instead they keep coming up with good ideas to better support our customers, and expect the same number of people to take on the additional tasking. The idea is that overtime is approved, which to me, if that is your basic plan for getting all of the work done, you're undermanned. They also have not promoted anyone internally, in the support section, in over a year, even though they have been talking about it for almost that long. There is also little to no room to grow outside of the department, so your stuck unless you want to leave.
Pros
Free food and drinks on Friday
Cons
Undermanned

Good People and Products
Sales Manager (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXMarch 2, 2017
I enjoyed my time with Lifesize. The employees are top notch but management tends to be all over the place as far as the company's direction. Products are slow to market and product management has little time for outside suggestions on roadmap. Faced paced environment with never-ending changes.

Enjoyable position, but management lacked initiative and direct communication. Left role for Fujitsu. Did not enjoy the final work environment.

Company going through change
HR (Current Employee) –  AustinJuly 9, 2015
Lifesize is a great company, which happens to be going through a lot of change. Lifesize has gone from a product based company to a SAAS company with a Cloud Service. This has created an environment of constant change... This company has great people working for it and by the end of 2015 should be completly finished with the transition to a SAAS environment. I would reccomend this company to anyone that can self manage and self motivate, its an environment that you can grow in... but there are still hurdles to jump before the transition is complete.
Pros
The people, the environment, Opportunity for growth, Benifits
Cons
Leadership is pretty hands off, overall communication from C level execs could be better

Fun place to work at
Global Sales Enablement - Business Analyst (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXMarch 23, 2015
LifeSize offered a dynamic working environment. Being a video-conference company, you got to work with people all over the world (time zones permitting) on a daily basis, which made the job very exciting.

The sweetest part of the job: because of the nature of the company, they allowed us to work from wherever we wanted, as long as we were reachable on video. The hardest: sometimes it's not easy to work for three supervisors who were each of them at a different time zone.

Nice, competent staff and managers who really try to keep life at Lifesize productive without being harsh about it.
Lead Regulatory Engineer (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXSeptember 5, 2014
I would work on several projects in a day.I learned how to manage projects, and to communicate more clearly with my managers, who only needed to be told what I need to get the job done. The hardest part of the job was crunch time around product release. My co-workers were definitely the best part of the job.
Pros
Surrounded by competent engineers.
Cons
A bit stressful near product release times, but who isn't...

Fun work enviroment
Industry- Help Desk (Current Employee) –  Austin TXJuly 25, 2013
A typical day at work usually starts with going through emails and basically setting up your day based on priority of the customers. Then i go through the queue and make sure that i don't have anything lingering. While answering phone calls.
Iv learned the value of team work, but also independence in keeping up with your own work.
Management is always very understanding, Great people to work with.
However the hardest part about the job is not being able to move up, i have been promised certain things based on my performance but still have not had an opportunity to train and move up.

Operations (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXMay 1, 2013
Overall a pretty fun place to work. The company runs fairly lean in a lot of departments so expect some busy days. However, the technology provides great work life balance.
Pros
Breakfest tacos and free snacks
Cons
Understaffed in some departments. Lacks managerial direction
