About us
What is Lighthouse Academies?
Lighthouse Academies is a national nonprofit network of charter schools encompassing more than 6,000 students and families, in addition to 605 teachers, principals, and staff members. Our team goes above and beyond to pave the way to a college education for students who would otherwise face limited opportunities due to

Mission

We prepare our students for college through a rigorous arts-infused program.

Vision

All students will be taught by a highly effective teacher in a nurturing environment and will achieve at high levels. Each student will develop the knowledge, skills, and values necessary for responsible citizenship and lifelong learning. The impact of our collective efforts will fundamentally change public education.

Breaking The Cycle

Lifetime income inequalities and numerous other hurdles have created a staggering achievement gap in America today. Consequently, a disproportionate number of people of color find themselves trapped in the cycle of poverty, unable to achieve more for themselves or their families. Lighthouse Academies aims to break this cycle by providing K–12 children an arts-infused college prep program using only the funding provided by law. Our unique approach allows us to achieve more for these children with the resources already available.

Lack of Support
Written by Elementary School Teacher (Current Employee) from Gary, IN on May 23, 2019
Administration at Lighthouse is great. They care deeply for students and staff. Lighthouse as an organization lacks the support and respect for their staff and schools, though. There is no school culture, very minimal resources, and overworked staff. Staff are very easily disposable and very overworked.
