Project Specialist, Global Studies (Current Employee) –  Southfield, MIJune 25, 2018
Management is divided amongst the teams, no communication as a whole throughout the company. A lot of information is found out second hand thru the employees and then brought to their manager's attention.

I haven't grown in the company in the last 3 years and there has been a lot of turn over entry potions and Management positions. The company is in a transition period.

I learned a lot on this company due that the boss trusted on me, and the environment was very good on it. The benefits were very good, and I think that I approached the opportunities.

great place to work until they are over budget
Air & Sea Import Specialist, LCB (Former Employee) –  Itasca, ILMarch 30, 2018
Livingston was a dream job for me, even with the long hours and heavy workload, lack of training, etc.. it still had a very reputable name. The problem with working here is that if they lose an account or don't bring in the projected revenue, they will let go of entire departments/divisions. I wasn't the first, and most certainly not the last. Since I left, more that half the staff have been let go. Many of the departments/divisions no longer exist, including mine. They will go through another hiring frenzy, and then let a ton of people go again, as soon as they are over budget. There is no job security here.
Pros
clean office, great coffee, nice building, pleasant coworkers
Cons
no job security

Poor management breeds hostile work environment. The employees can be nice but everyone is often stressed and it shows. It's a fine starting entry level job

if You want advancement internally this is not the place to work
Associate (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXFebruary 8, 2018
Operate on good old boys network. Bring people from outside and create new positions for them without even letting people know internally. Just make an announcement after the position has been filled. Executive management just brings all their old friends from other companies and puts them into positions. Lots of high salaries paid people that don’t know what they are doing or producing results for what they are getting paid. Hr doesn’t have a clue how to handle personnel issues or provide you with the right support. Worst company ever worked for!!!
Pros
Started out good & family environment
Cons
New executive management destroyed culture

Associate (Current Employee) –  Southfield, MIJanuary 19, 2018
The upper management is not always the best, but the management on the floor is usually pretty good. Lots of room to build your skill sets and they offer a wide range of training classes. They try very hard to keep the employees happy and engaged and have a robust activities schedule.
Pros
work culture, training, room to grow
Cons
some management, lack of transparency, intense clients

eCommerce Consultant (Current Employee) –  Taylor, MINovember 24, 2017
Management does not care about its employees. There is a high turn over rate due to lack of acknowledgment. Treat employees like garbage. There is no advancement. Do not get pay raises on reviews but if you do its only .15.

Good company with decent benefits. Management is constantly changing from the CEO down to supervisors. It is a good company to get your foot in the door of the global trade industry.

Not a good place to work
Import Specialist (Current Employee) –  Houston, TXNovember 1, 2017
HR never listens or helps with issues, The managers are not helpful.
When the higher ups come into the office we are not allowed to tell the truth on how the company is having major issues. There are very talented people who sit around with nothing to do while there are others who are over-worked however no one cares.

Working at Livingston Intl has given me broaden knowledge of the logistic and Homeland Security industry when it comes to land freights. Livingston Intl opened knowledge to clients, carriers and their drivers, customs border patrol, PGAs and the shipments that are being imported into the U.S. I now having working knowledge and an understanding of how the customs protection works.

Livingston is very family-oriented, community-oriented and a warm place to work. Work schedule is flexible to family emergencies, and other events. People you work with become like your very own family. they are very supportive in life changing events and fundraising. Your co-workers are heartbroken when you are heartbroken and empathize with your pain be it physical or emotional. They rejoice with co-workers are promoted within the company or a more advanced opportunity presented itself. Livingston celebrates!

Livingston Intl continues to advance and forward as the world evolves technologically.
