Intially, I was very nervous about my interview. For one, I was late due to another vehicle accident on the way. I notified the interviewer I will be late and apologized for my tardiness. Fortunately when I did get there for the interview, the sense of humor from an faculty broke the ice. I’m grateful they gave me a chance. Lesson learnt: it never hurts to arrive too early.

I was asked what experience I had running my own classes, managing my own assignments, and adhering to the curriculum without supervision. I find that once a new adjunct survives a semester, they have developed the skills to work independently. I was also asked what support I would need to succeed--I answered truthfully, and said "not much at all." Independence is definitely a strength of a wise adjunct.
