No we did not get smoke breaks. We were not allowed to smoke on the property. And actually if u r caught smoking, the Mgmt could fire u on the spot. Although for a few favored cooks, they were allowed to sneak out the back door during garbage runs. So unfair. I was written up for smoking on property after working a 12 hour bar shift that was insanely busy.

I saw a vacancy post on another website, went to Longhorn's website, applied...got a follow-up "we're interested" email and called and set up an interview. Interviewed the first time with an assistant manager, the second time with the GM, and was offered the position at the end of the second interview.

Longhorn was my second, part-time job. I was burned out due to working Longhorn every weekend and then going to my full-time job M-F, 8 hours a day. I really enjoyed Longhorn and saw it as a way to let my hair down after the stress of my full-time job.

We worked hard and played hard. Lots of laughs and cutting up in the back of the house, but we were professional but fun to the guests. Weeknights weren't bad, but weekends (Friday nights, all day Saturday, and a good chunk of Sunday) were very fast-paced.
