Toxic. They take advantage of the fact that there's no other big employers in the area (no competition) so they think you won't quit at the first opportunity, therefore they have no incentive to treat you with respect. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Think of NM as being the land of "tomorrow". And that is how the culture at Los Alamos National Labs is. Management, depending on where you're located can be good, but if you're within the Nuclear Facility, expect what was posted by another poster..."Dysfunctional, corrupt, and largely incompetent...", but I'd also add in that it's from the first line management up through the executives. The culture, along with everything else rolls down hill.
