Stressful with incompetent management
Operator 3 / Lead (Current Employee) –  Grand Junction, IAJuly 10, 2019
Management here is very incompetent. Safety is stressed, but always overlooked on account of production. Do as I say not as I do attitude. Communication is very poor and lacking on all levels. Basic rules do not apply to all and policies can change on a whim, including safety.
Pros
Overtime if you act busy
Cons
Stress, poor advancement, Home life is deemed bad

A great company to work for
Lomo WA - Machine Operator/ Truck Unloader (Former Employee) –  Washtucna, WAJune 9, 2019
Learned a lot of new skills working with this company. Was a hard labor job that pushed you to your limits with long hour days and being out in the heat. You get used to it over time, but its definitely a learning experience.

No work/life balance
Palletizer Operator (Former Employee) –  Savannah, GAMay 26, 2019
You swing shift every week, you can't make any plans because the schedule changes every week. Not much room for growth.,Too much favoritism, If you are a family oriented person I would not recommend you to work this company. The turnover rate is very high. Sometimes you have to work 12 hours 7 or more days straight but knowing when you will have a day off.
Pros
Lots of overtime.
Cons
You have to work 19 days straight just to get 2 days off, Management does not communicate with staff, No structure.

Poor Management
Assistant Maintenance Superintendent (Former Employee) –  Port Allen, LAMarch 11, 2019
Absolutely no structure within the plant. Contractors have more input on the operations of the plant than management hired to run the plant. Effort and dedication means nothing to management and job satisfaction is a myth. Poor management was finally recognized after years and then let go, only to bring in another form of the same management style.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Mismanagement, long hours and no incentives

Could be an excellent place to work but.....
Admin/ A/P (Former Employee) –  Port Allen, LAMarch 1, 2019
The Port Allen facility is mismanaged and basically a sinking ship. The employees who actually care about their jobs and try to make positive changes are often penalized or over-ruled by those who don’t really care or are not even qualified to make decisions. They have zero structure and most days you have no clue who is running the show. Lines are blurred between company employees and contractors and there is a lot of internal, petty fighting and backstabbing. They will hire unqualified employees just to get a warm body in there and put that person to in charge of major decisions that could have catastrophic results. Safety is not a top priority, although they will say it is. Corners are cut because they cannot control spending and no real system in place for checks and balances.
This place will challenge your morals daily. I would not recommend working there until some serious changes are made.. I was surprised by the lack of accountability in management and their ever-changing policies and non-existent procedures.
Huge gap in pay between hourly and salaried employees. You will not get a decent raise unless you are in a certain group of people which is not based on performance. You will be asked to do other peoples work when they drop the ball, but no recognition or compensation for picking up someone else’s slack.
Disappointing all the way around. I was treated like dirt after investing several years into company.
Pros
Great benefits. the few people who actually care.
Cons
Lack of management, safety is not top priority, chaos, favoritism

working for Louis Dreyfus Co.
Construction Worker (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXFebruary 19, 2019
working with Louis Dreyfus is a hard working job but fun at the same time its really what you make it. the hours are long yes, but if you get the right amount of sleep you can get it accomplished. i was a janitor which i would stay underground and clean the machines and the room full of dust. you have to wear a face mask and ear buds because of the dirt and the sound of the machines underground where you are located.
Pros
30 minute break.. you can leave the premises and come back but you have to be on time.
Cons
you cant miss a day at work unless you are sick. other than that you work everyday of the week.

Great company. But the manager doesn't run it. The drivers whom are union do.
Maintenance Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Galveston, TXFebruary 4, 2019
My welcoming into the company was amazing. Great management CEO'S and staff. Horrible experience with drivers. Would not listen to rules or instructions. None of whom follow any safety requirements. When it came down to being wrongfully accused of saying things never said, company did no investigation or question me about 1 thing. Was just let go for not following procedure. Which was followed by me to the letter. If you plan on working there do not trust a word anyone says. Very back stabbing.
Pros
Great company and benefits
Cons
1 person doesn't like you... your gone with no questions.

Could work overtime when gin season was upon us but when it was slow it was really slow. It was the slow time that would make the season drag. Giving us nothing to do.

Supply Chain Manager (Former Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKSeptember 3, 2018
Prior to my experience with Connecticut based Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas I had only experienced local energy company culture. This was my first opportunity to work alongside C-Suite Executives and truly became a catalyst for my career.

Wonderful place to work if you don't have a family. You can make this a career but you will have to be open minded and flexible. Especially during harvest season.

If you not sure where to start in IT world I would recommend Service Desk at LDC. The company has good platform to start your career but it does not feel like you’ll ever move up.

Abusive to temps.
commodities (Former Employee) –  Grand Junction. IaApril 7, 2018
Abusive to new people. Not wanting to finish training because that would cut hours on LDC employee's. If they run you out they can keep pulling massive overtime because of being short staffed. No real person being in charge. You can get by. Not caring. Browsing web and playing with your phone. Hay the place doesnt need cleaned it will run itself. Point that out what may need fixed your not part of the team.
Pros
Great pay for browsing the web and watching movies
Cons
Not treating people equal.
