Receiver (Current Employee) – Ann Arbor, MI – June 14, 2018
Lucky's Market is a new growing business. They are still working out kinks with growing a company. I like a fast paced environment and guidelines, Lucky's is a little more relaxed on that aspect. They are getting better with what is to be expected. As I said a baby company. But overall, decent company to work for.
Some upper management can be difficult to work with
Journeyman Grocery Clerk (Former Employee) – Santa Clara, CA – June 21, 2018
I come in Clock the Time Clock. First find a schedule find my name, find out who the Manager is on duty after counting my Cash Till. Ask them what is expected of Me throughout the day, and do it joyfully.
Supervisor (Former Employee) – Savannah, GA – June 5, 2018
Retaining people was difficult, because they were so desperate to get people in, they would just higher anybody. If they liked them, they promoted them, and that person would collapse under the pressure. Older, harder working employees were often overlooked for advancement, tremendous amount of favoritism, drama and poor judgement. There was one team member always pitching a fit, but when she did it, she called it "passion", when other team members did it, she called it a "temper tantrum"...go figure. The company does have its perks, but the Savannah GA location needs a major overhaul. So glad to be free from the "crabs in a barrel" cutthroat environment.
Paid travel, Insurance, Gives back to the community
Understaffed, Poor quality staff, Constantly had to watch your back due to the cutthroat environment
slave (Former Employee) – TRAVERSE CITY, MI – May 31, 2018
Great place to train young adults, who still live at home, to work. Otherwise...Work your butt off, do an exceptional job, and go nowhere for a wage that is not efficient for living. There are very few wonderful people who still work there, not many. As the smart people moved on to other fruitful opportunities, out side of Lucky's.
Produce Team Member (Former Employee) – Panama City, FL – May 17, 2018
I worked at the Panama City location for 5 months. Started out as a part time employee, then was told I would be full time, although I never saw those hours. The management is HORRENDOUS. If they even see you helping another team member with an issue, you are scolded for not being "productive". They make you feel important at the orientation, but don't let this fool you. They could care less and they know that you're replaceable at any time. Horrible company with horribles values.
Very poor management, lack of hours, disrespectful higher up employees.
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) – Springfield, MO – May 8, 2018
Was hired full time, then started cutting hours!! Ridiculous the way people are treated. The company says their team members come first I call BS. They don't care about their employees. Went down to a skeleton crew!! Would not recommend this place to anyone for a job!
Great culture and concept. Growing pains of young ambitious company
Culinary Director (Current Employee) – Naples, FL – April 27, 2018
Young company with ambitious growth plans. Will go through growing pains. Great concept and culture. Systems need improvement. Training needs improvement. Supply chain seeds improvement. Great concept and culture
Deli (Current Employee) – Savannah, GA – April 20, 2018
The company has little to no direction. They do not advertise but then wonder why their sales are so low. The raises and evaluations are infrequent and very small. Advancement depends on who you befriend in the company not how hard you work or if you're a great worker in general. It is better to be a mediocre worker rather than a good one because you will be taken advantage of otherwise. The store I work at is very short staffed and the company would prefer for everyone else to work triple shifts/positions rather than hire more people to actually fill the positions. There are so many other problems with this company, it is best to say just don't work here, it's pretty terrible.
Supervisor/Sous Chef (Former Employee) – Naples, FL – April 16, 2018
This was a very unique place to work for. I loved that we were a company that gave back to the community. We also used local vendors from the community. We were such a close nit family and if it wasn't moving, I probably would be working there.
Assistant Produce Manager (Former Employee) – Billings, MT – April 5, 2018
By far the worst place I've ever been employed. Very cutthroat style of doing things. Terrible management. But, if you're willing to sell your soul for decent pay and career advancement opportunities, this may be the place for you.
Supervisor (Current Employee) – Oakland Park, FL – March 29, 2018
The propaganda that is preached is completely different than the reality. No input is wanted only yes persons. The farm to table is a gimmick not what really takes place. It is a job to do until the better option comes along.
MANAGER (Former Employee) – Billings, MT – March 22, 2018
Corporate demanded that departments cut hours and then questioned why quality of service was affected. PTO is given based off of hours working. Worked here for close to two years and only accrued 7 days PTO. Pay was NOT consistent between departments.
Butcher/Meat Cutter (Former Employee) – Lexington, KY – March 22, 2018
The culture within this company is very tight-knit. They were founded by two former-chefs who had a passion for making healthy food options accessible to the everyday consumer. Their stores are by far the coolest place you can shop for groceries
Grocery Clerk/Cashier (Former Employee) – Napa, CA – March 17, 2018
At Lucky's worked as a grocery checker , scanning customers purchases. Customers would pay in varies ways cash, checks, EBT and other payments. Stocked and cleaned shelves as needed, Other checkers were helpful. I enjoyed working was customers and sometimes frustrating.
I think the worst part was not knowing your work schedule until late in the week for the next week.
Great place for a high schooler to get a first job at
Customer Service (Former Employee) – Troy, MI – March 11, 2018
Lucky,s is a great first job. Gets you used to responsibilities of work, along with very flexible hours, and great company. Not a forever job by any means, but the employers expect that when they hire you.
Cashier (Former Employee) – Sarasota, FL – March 2, 2018
Really bad management for the most part. They tend to let rude customers walk all over you so you can't defend yourself, yet management cusses at people and there are no repercussions. Completely unfair and horrible with giving hours.
