Horrible management
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Henderson, NVMay 8, 2019
If you don’t plan on going far in life and want something that pays every week. This might be the job for you. The management staff are very unsupportive and one sided. Anyone in upper management aren’t going to support anyone who isn’t a store manger. A very uncomfortable work environment.

Regional manager played favorites
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYFebruary 4, 2019
Day to day the culture depends on the store but as a member of management interaction with the regional manger were terrible. He tries to manage through intimidation and plays favorite. He is ineffective and rude.

Nothing positive to say. Look elsewhere. Management doesn’t care about customers and will be angry at them if they have any returns. Just unprofessional.

Excellent place to work. Not much for advancement, although no complaints for current position. Company is very understanding and good for family accommodations.

Job satisfaction directly correlates to the competency of the co-workers you work with. Advancement is slow & they will work you way outside of your pay grade.

Assistant Store Manager II- My duties (Former Employee) –  Lancaster, PASeptember 20, 2018
Staff was friendly and customers are nice to deal with. Most are returning customers so relationships are built over time. Making phone sales and quotes over the phone while dealing with a customer in front of you can be usual. multi tasking is a must with ths job seeing how most store are a low staff environment.
Pros
customers

Only do this if you have no life.
ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXSeptember 2, 2018
If you sincerely don't have anything else to do, then this is the job for you. Personally, I don't enjoy taking my work home with me. When I am off answering calls/texts about work on a regular basis, and some of the time having to do small tasks on those days (which I would have to clock in for), just isn't for me. Overall, the benefits are awesome but you're an underpaid Swiss army knife. If you want to be able to do everything that a group of lets say, 7-10, employees should be doing, then by all means as well. Overall I liked the people I worked with and the benefits, and that was the extent of my enjoyment there.
Pros
Good people, good benefits
Cons

It was an ok place with good coworkers that were very supportive as long as everyone did their share of the workload. You work every weekend and store hours changed frequently in six years.
Pros
Great insurance

Great Benefits but Demanding Job
Grand Junction, CO- Assistant Store Manager (Current Employee) –  Grand Junction, COAugust 11, 2018
Over all it would be a great job if there was better management. Long Shifts that are physically demanding. Pressure to meet sales goals with small bonus potential. The manager I had was impossible for me to work with but I'm sure that there are great managers with in the company.
Pros
Benefits, bonuses, advancement oppurtunity
Cons
Long hours with no breaks, Fast paced and stressful

Good on paper, your manager will own you though.
Asm-1 (Former Employee) –  CaliforniaJuly 25, 2018
The store a itself was not bad. But the management was terrible. No communication. No real believable goals set. 3 people run an entire location and usually you're left alone for 6 hours or more. If you do plan to stick with this job, communicate everything you can to corporate if something does not feel right and just pass by your manager. Save yourself a headache and save yourself drama.
Pros
Plenty of hours
Cons
On work floor alone for hours. No support from in store management

You run the entire store, from making the sale, to finding the product the customer wants at a different location and setting it up for pick up. Also drive a fork lift and load the customers order.

Great place to work.
ASM 1 (Current Employee) –  Nanuet, NYMay 19, 2018
This company is a great place to work. The daily follow-up calls can be tedious. Most retailers are open to 10 or later, being able to always leave at 7 (730 at the worse) means you will always be able to see friends and family. My lower volume store allows me to focus more on creating better customer experiences but you may find yourself in an higher volume store where multi-tasking will be key.

All the knowledge you need to succeed is available and you will learn it all with time. Just be enthusiastic and the rest will fall into place.

Just remember; Turn on the sales faucet and Don't cheat the grind.
Pros
Great work-life balance, good pay + Monthly bonuses
Cons
Can be overwhelming when busy, simple mistakes can be costly.

Assistant Store Manager - Sales Support Lead (Current Employee) –  Portland, ORApril 18, 2018
The company itself has some great benefits that an employee can take advantage of. Employees can easily gain overtime and averages in the 40-50 hours per week. However, the company expects the stores to run on 3 - 4 people and do the work of 7 - 10 people which causes a high amount of stress and anxiety.
The company does a poor job of promoting from within which causes tension between not only employees but other stores as well.

The hardest part of this job is maintaining a cool head because there's always a fire to put out Even when a store manages a 100% on their audit, they still get called out on the smallest of items.

Now, even with all the negative, you still get a lot of hours and potential for a quick move around if you do good at your job. However, if you make the smallest mistake, they will turn you into a scapegoat for any issues. This isn't a job for everyone.
Pros
Overtime, company contests, paid time off, wonderful employees
Cons

Good people, good pay, not great communication from upper management
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Denton, TXMarch 4, 2018
You work with good people, and the pay isn't bad, but there is poor communication at times from upper management. Overall not a bad company to work for, and they seem to be moving in the right direction.

At first it was a great place to work. Once the company went public everything was about pleasing the shareholders and all employees just became a number.
