Assistant Store Manager - Sales Support Lead (Current Employee) –  Portland, ORApril 18, 2018
The company itself has some great benefits that an employee can take advantage of. Employees can easily gain overtime and averages in the 40-50 hours per week. However, the company expects the stores to run on 3 - 4 people and do the work of 7 - 10 people which causes a high amount of stress and anxiety.
The company does a poor job of promoting from within which causes tension between not only employees but other stores as well.

The hardest part of this job is maintaining a cool head because there's always a fire to put out Even when a store manages a 100% on their audit, they still get called out on the smallest of items.

Now, even with all the negative, you still get a lot of hours and potential for a quick move around if you do good at your job. However, if you make the smallest mistake, they will turn you into a scapegoat for any issues. This isn't a job for everyone.
Pros
Overtime, company contests, paid time off, wonderful employees
Cons
Short lunches, high stress, bad management

I put in countless hours 50+ per week, trained multiple employees, and did work out of the scope of my job requirements and was passed over 3 times for a promotion. Lack of training and you get left to yourself to figure out the computer system and product knowledge.
Pros
If you like working overtime thats a PRO

They offer great benefits. My manager is easy going and doesn't mind teaching/training. They recognize milestones. You are encouraged to learn new tasks and to collaborate with other departments.

This place is good to work at if you are full-time employee but if you are part time employee in the warehouse you will not be getting any hours, you will not receive any benefits, your salary wage is at a low rate, the workplace culture is non-diverse, and people are not friendly.

The best was never enough
Store Manager (Former Employee) –  NYMarch 29, 2018
As a store manager, you were constantly pushed to hit higher and higher numbers based on the company wanting to grow, even if the market could not sustain the increase in sales plan.

Not the place to work
Sales-warehouse (Former Employee) –  Hillsborough, NJMarch 25, 2018
If you’re looking for a long term job I’d reconsider. Even though the work was easy. The micro management was way to much. They let everybody work there and will not fire people who deserve to be fired. When the ASM 2 yells at employees infront of customers and treats customers like garbage. The store manager has never done anything about it but make excuses. Lack of communication is a constant thought out the work week. The store manager is a good guy, but has many false promises. As a stock person you are expected to run the wharehouse and do the job of your managers. At the end of the month the managers get a bonus for hitting plan, but if you’re in the wharehouse. Well you’ll never see that. If you have a family, we’ll be ready not to see them on the weekends. You will either work both days or one of the days. Not worth it. So go look someplace else. Also you don’t get scheduled for 40 hours a week. It’ll be 38.5. So there’s no OT. It’s sad
Pros
Easy to learn
Cons
Poor management, work hours

Good people, good pay, not great communication from upper management
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) –  Denton, TXMarch 4, 2018
You work with good people, and the pay isn't bad, but there is poor communication at times from upper management. Overall not a bad company to work for, and they seem to be moving in the right direction.

Manager (Former Employee) –  Lansing, MIFebruary 6, 2018
My typical work day consist of opening the store and overseeing any and all matters that needed my attention. Learned how to manage a business. Management wasn't around much. We communicated mostly by weekly conference calls. The culture there wasn't good at all. The hardest part of the job was not receiving much help from my management team and customer complaints. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the team I had.
Pros
Good experience learning how to manage a business.
Cons
Much longer hours than expected.

Director (Current Employee) –  Toano, VAFebruary 3, 2018
As a company that has had a number of compliance violations in the past, the company is working hard to enhance its compliance infrastructure. New management and new systems are making a difference in Lumber Liquidators long term success.

The people are great and the work environment is good.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Remote location; no food on site
