Consultant(&(Sales(Associate (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLDecember 16, 2018
My day starts with a follow up the quotes or prior meetings.
The atmosphere is very refine, and there is something to learn everyday.
I always review and work in the new projects.
Pros
Design atmosphere, compensation
Cons
The company loses its route. It is becoming just a big corporation.

With ownership constant meddling, Luminaire is going nowhere fast. No clear vision for the present or future, left me with no other option but to resign.

Luminaire is a family run company. This high end furniture importer is great to work for if you want to have balanced family life. It is a very creative environment.

Great place to learn from the best!
Senior Designer and Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Miami, FLMay 14, 2018
I wouldn't be the designer I am today had it not been for the Luminaire Culture. I encourage young designers to seek mentor-ship in this environment first before deciding what they really want to do, because you get exposed to a lot more world renowned designers/architects here where you can ask questions to develop yourself further.
Pros
You get to be around some of the top designers and architects in the world!
Cons
The compensation is not that great, but if you work yourself up to management or sales you can make alot more in those departments.

It is calm, but can get very busy. Everyone is a team player therefore work flow is dispersed evenly. Amazing ambiance. Great locations therefore there is room for growth in the company.

Sales (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILDecember 29, 2017
pay was unrealistic, to many associates working for a small base
of customer's commission only, no security. One person who has
been there forever get the bulk of sales
Pros
Interesting learning experience on furniture brands and product training

Revolving Door, Inconsistent Policies, Unprofessional Environment
Contract/Interior Sales Associate (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILNovember 6, 2015
Thoroughly unprofessional environment to work for. Policies continuously changing. Can't hold on to employees for numerous reasons. Half the workforce left within 4 months which is a regular event every 2 years. Too many layers and obstacles to execute the simplest order. Are not service oriented toward their clients.

a Workplace with a beautiful showroom and ugly work ethics
Interior Architect (Former Employee) –  Coral Gables, FLJuly 22, 2014
Terrible work ethics, abusive management and poor compensation.

Computers were outdated, lacked resources and necessary tools like Photoshop and basic needs for copies/printing presentations.

Very discouraging to work for an employer who was not just verbally abusive, but compensated their employees with yearly salaries that fell below the cost of one piece of furniture sold in the showroom.

In one single project, which averaged between 100K to 1.5 million, the commission was only .1%. Not even 1%. That is close to nothing considering federal taxes took close to 40% of it.

Best of Luck!
