Productive and fun place to work
Assembler (Current Employee) - Worcester, MA - February 6, 2020
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThis is the best job I have ever had. My supervisor takes the time to teach me all about my job. Good pay, good benefits. Great location, you can take the bus to work.
Pros
Hours, Pay, and the people

Career advancement is available at all levels of the company
Manager (Current Employee) - Worcester, MA - February 6, 2020
A typical day is fast paced, oriented towards producing and shipping quality products. I have been provided with training both inside and outside the company. Lutco is a family owned company and the owners take pride in providing employment to people in Central MA- The hardest part of the job is keeping up with rapidly changing customer demands that are typical in today's fast paced business climate. The most enjoyable part of the job is working with people that I have known for many years.

If you are looking to be paid well not the place!! No ventilation in all areas. Extremely cold in the winter and extremely hot in the summer. Everyone gets same raise no matter how much you do or how little you do

Great group of people
CNC machinist (Former Employee) - Worcester, MA - October 29, 2019
I found a welcoming and knowledgeable group that was willing to teach and cooperate amongst each other for the overall production goals. Very approachable management.

Great place to work!
Assembler (Current Employee) - Assembly - September 17, 2019
Good location, management tries very hard to be a mentor to employees. I feel very fortunate to have this job. I like the hours and pay - you do not need a car if you live in Worcester.

This is a dead end job
Machine Operator/Assembler (Former Employee) - Worcester, MA - August 30, 2019
It sounds like a promising place to work and advance at first. Then when it's time for your yearly review the management has nothing but empty promises and excuses to give any kind of raise or position advancement. Do not match 401k, weak medical and dental benefits, no bonuses and a very unclean work environment. Basically breathing in oil/fumes you can visibly see all over the walls of the shop. It's a good 'get well job' but not a good place to stay. You will be strung along while employees make a low wage, no matter how much you learn or better yourself at your job posotion, there is no advancement only disappointment.
Pros
Get well job
Cons
Unclean, no advancement, poor benefits.

Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Worcester, MA - July 31, 2019
Very good place learn many machines and job security. Guaranteed vacation time after 6months and sick time. Lunch trucks come at 9am and breaks r nice and not short.

Poor work place
broacher (Former Employee) - Massachusetts - December 30, 2018
As with many companies in america, there is a strong sense of nepotism, and favoritism. were employers are putting immigrants in leadership role positions because of being able to pay them less, which in turn sacrifices fairness and compliance of our laws in the american workforce.

Dying business
Maintenance Mechanic (Current Employee) - Worcester, MA - September 17, 2016
The building itself is over 100 years old and probably hasn't been maintained since it was built. Employees are miserable and most do not speak English AT ALL (I personally don't have a problem with it, but it is hard to work on machinery if the operator cannot tell you what is wrong with it). Management is more concerned with putting money in their pockets than with taking care of the building/company.

Very Demanding enviroment
Production Supervisor (Former Employee) - Worcester, MA - March 15, 2015
Employee culture difficult to work in. Previous management style very harsh. Compensation was very good but a revolving door of employment. Training new employees nearly every week.
Pros
Compensation
Cons
demanding and stressful

Jobs at Lutco, Inc.
Industrious workplace with little benefits other than basic paycheck
Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Mecosta, MI - December 26, 2014
My typical day at Lutco. was usually starting work at 6 A.M. and ending work at 6 P.M.. when I started work, I had to sweep the shop and take care of all the trash in the bins. After all the cleaning was done, I would make a few boxes for future use. Once the boxes were made, I would start my plastic injection molding machine. With the machine running, I would stand there. Every thirty seconds, the mold would open and I would twist a knob, ejecting the parts. Every so often, I would have to fill the hopper on top of the machine to ensure the cycle continues, and also make more boxes as I needed. I would repeat this process for 12 hours a day with no break or sitting down. I learned how to operate a plastic injection machine. Sometimes, somebody would come around to check on my progress. I worked by myself nearly all the time. The hardest part of the job was getting used to not sitting down all day. The one thing I like about the job was that there was music playing in the background.
Pros
Decent pay
Cons
No breaks, long hours
