Employee (Former Employee) – Kendallville, IN – July 24, 2018
Management expects you to step up and do other people jobs with no help and they won't help in any way. It's all about them and not the employees. People that work for them In Fort Wayne are paid far more than employees in Kendallville for the same job.
Your supervisors are great but upper manage only care about getting their year end bounuses
Administrative Coordinator (Former Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN – June 19, 2018
promotions tend to be based upon being a personal favorite of upper-level management. Those who excel are young, attractive, and are willing to compliment and serve as yes-man to those in charge. Salaries are very low.
CNA (Current Employee) – Kendallville, IN – May 31, 2018
Management looks for people who will conform to who they want you to be (aka robots) No matter how much you work they always want more! You get pointed even if you have a doctor's note or laying in a hospital bed. No paid holidays unless you use your PTO!! The only good I have to say is the shift differential is higher than anywhere.
Human Resources (Current Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN – April 24, 2018
I have been here for 45 days and am loving it! They truly practice what they preach. They do great work and have many amazing stories to share. I have felt nothing but an overwhelming amount of positivity, support, and friendship. It is one thing to talk about and know what the mission and values of the organization are and another to practice it. They do this every day. It is hard work for a great purpose with great people.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN – April 7, 2018
Managment needed to step up when i was there. The attitudes around there was ridiculous.. There was no team work., everyone was out for themselves. You would go to the supervisor or the nurse about a problem and they acted like they could care less.
Executive Assistant and Reception Manager (Current Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN – December 26, 2017
This company practices what it preaches. The management cares about employees while doing what needs to be done to create the highest level of productivity for residents, which is a very delicate balance. This company is not for everyone because of its high standards - lazy or unmotivated staff will be weeded out. Hard work in this environment is highly rewarding, however, and managers treat the hardest-workers as family.
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) – Kendallville, IN – June 27, 2017
This could be a great company, however the staff turnover is at a high. Management is not helpful and there are many times that there is tension within the building or among staff.. I was a CNA and worked in house pool. The most enjoyable part of my job was the residents and the hardest part of my job was losing a resident, as well as working with very little staff.
Coordinator (Former Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN – June 20, 2017
The residents and their families are wonderful and the work is fulfilling. The management team seem to lack focus and change directions so often that little gets accomplished. Appointments to upper level management are often baffling, damage morale, and lead to problems for a staff that is already underpaid and overworked.
All too often, upward mobility depends upon successfully flattering executives. For example, one high level manager was promoted twice in the individual's first three months on the job in spite of falling far below productivity expectations - simply because she flattered and complimented her superior. Other staff see this type of thing and grow discouraged and jaded.
The care is good and clinical staff work very hard, but until upper level management positions are held by those who are truly qualified and make decisions based upon established strategic criteria, this is not the place to make a career.
Nurse (Current Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN – May 5, 2017
Everyone works hard to make residents happy. It's hard work but rewarding. They do a lot for the employees. People are friendly and helpful. You have to be flexible but I like working in different areas.
Good staff, DON is friendly and easy to talk to. My supervisor is very helpful.
Housekeeping (Former Employee) – Kendallville, IN – April 5, 2017
start at 5:30 am and clean 18 bed rooms plus 4 offices and 2 bathrooms, I would have a half hour lunch break and then finish cleaning till shift was over at 2:00 pm. I learned a new respect for housekeepers. The manager was very easy to get along with and if you needed a day off he was more then willing to work with you. It was very stressful trying to keep things spotless but the most enjoyable part of my job is when I would spend a few minutes talking to the residents.
Floor Nurse/Charge Nurse (Current Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN 46816 – March 3, 2017
Lutheran Life Villages on Anthony Blvd used to be a wonderful place to work. Until March 2016, a new Director of Nursing was hired and the employee morale has gone down ever since. The DON is dishonest, treats employees (especially management) unfairly, and is a bully. LLV wants to be the employer of choice, and provider of choice, this will never happen as long as the current DON continues to lead at that facility. DON enjoys creating disharmony among the team. DON wants to be the only leader to express ideas and will take credit for other people's work. If you want to be underpaid, expected to work for no additional incentives, be belittled and lied to on a daily basis, and have favoritism thrown in your face on a daily basis then LLV is the place to be! I would not recommend anyone work there until management changes.
Direct Support Professional (Former Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN – February 16, 2017
The job is rewarding and you will like the clients but that is where your enjoyment ends. The favoritism and back biting is awful. Management change's way to much and so does the office people. I would not recommend working here.
Can work what days and hours you want to, clients are great.
Management changes, favortism, no advancement, not give the IRS mileage reimbursement
On Payroll (Former Employee) – Fort Wayne, IN – December 30, 2016
Little to no training, just expected to catch on and made to feel inadequate/ignorant when questioned as to why you're not performing your job at their level. Management does not care about the residents welfare as they are nothing more than a number on a report or dollar figures in their bank accounts. I was not only belittled but blatantly laughed at while just short of actually being called stupid (body language and human mannerisms speak way more than weak words coming from your mouth). I was then intimidated daily and non stop into quitting until they fired me.
The residents will melt your heart, they are incredible!
Management/Office Staff, Zero Training, Zero co-worker support
