Everyone's on edge because we've been working here for years and now it's time to go to another company and possibly get less pay and start from scratch.

It’s so sad that after working there for 17 years, you’d think they would have consideration,or offer another position.. but I got a severance packet

I requested an interview for
Management . Two opportunities were available and I wasn't even granted an interview. Very unprofessional. The store is a joke . Get in reality ... you're not the great entity you think you are. Even the Titanic sunk . Good ridens to Macys .

Was there for 5 years and 21 of us got laid off at just one store but when I go in to talk to hr I see new faces from the seasonal help they kept but it's cool, finished school and hoping to start working in my medical field of work! This will officially be my last job in retail!

I'm about to get laid-off,i knew it was coming so it's no big deal to me. What makes me upset is the other workers who are getting let go,but then they hire the "seasonal" workers. Macy's has no loyalty to the little man.

As a former worker, my heart breaks due to all the people who will become unemployed from these events. Aside from that, I don't really care! Seeing Macy's crash and burn doesn't bother me in the least (-:

Challenging to get a full time position and when they are available it is only temporary and then back to part time. Most of the executive team is leaving after 10+ years of service and being replaced with people lacking those qualifications. The work environment has one person servicing the customer, cleaning the floor, checking fitting room and doing fulfillment while watching multiple zones.

Awful. Macy's let go of long-tenured, hard-working employees. Then several weeks later, hired new people from outside the company. If you have a reduction in force why are you now hiring new people? How about finding new positions for the laid-off employees? This action just shows what Macy's is all about.
