Shifts a are generated by a computer, not a person. You could close one night, then open the next morning. The managers have no power over scheduling. You can pick up additional shifts through the employee website or swap with an employee if they are willing. If an emergency comes up or you're sick, it'll cost you credits which can lead to termination.

As a sales associate, hours were very random, you never came in or left at the same time, it is based on demand during sale events. Often you would stay late to cover for no-shows in other departments.

Merchandisers and signing crew have more predictable schedules, but came in early (5am) before store opened, but also got to leave in the early afternoon.

Usually throughout most of the year, shifts would be scheduled anywhere between 9:30am to 9pm. During holiday times, it could be anywhere from 6am to midnight.
