After the management change happened on late July in Savannah (Head of Area getting fired) It has been slowly looking up and heading to positive trends.
Decent environment except for few management folks from Virginia and other places, very condescending and egocentric. But their intelligence needs to be re-examined, they are pretty dumb, they were just one of the people got lucky with timing and sucking up.

Overall, great company with great people.
Contract Management Specialist (Former Employee) –  The Woodlands, TXAugust 4, 2019
The biggest challange that I see at Maersk is that they have outsourced many of the roles and process decisions. No one seems to know what the process are, including the process owner. There has been a culture shift recently to be more customer focused but big wheels turn slow. Results are driven by how fast something gets done and not quality of work. Management is wonderful and the people are what makes the place great. Pay is not up to par but they try to make up for that with that by being very flexible with the work schedule.
Pros
Flexible work schedule
Cons
Decision making

OPERATIONS ANALYST & TRAINING COORDINATOR (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCAugust 1, 2019
There's not a lot of variety in job roles here in Charlotte. The pay is decent. Flexible with time off. They feed you a lot. Laid back work environment.

Very good company to work for but went through major changes in 2016
Government Contracts Manager (Former Employee) –  Norfolk, VAJuly 25, 2019
I would have finished out my working career with MLL had they not decided to change their corporate philosophy in 2016 when the then President left the company and Copenhagen decided that pursuit of government contracts must return at least 10%. At that time it looked as if all Government owned, Contractor managed contracts would be a minor part of the corporate makeup. Since this is the division that I worked it seemed like a good time to seek new employment. Corporate was on a mission to reduce the current workforce by at least 25%.

Key Account Program Manager (Current Employee) –  The Woodlands, TXJuly 21, 2019
As in any multinational organization there are positive and negative aspects. Among the main positive aspects is the opportunity to learn, among the negative lack of clear career planning & advancement.

portions of the company can be just plain archaic. hard to put forth things to get yourself recognized. You can see this across the office as even most of the lower level managers are not happy with their situation

Busy place great people and good team work
Warehouse Scanner (Former Employee) –  South Gate, CAJune 3, 2019
I started off as a loader during the summer it gets real hot and Home Depot section has heavy stuff still a decent place to work for the amount paid a month later I began scanning keeps you busy walking up and down all day writing numbers down for the most part it’s easy sometimes when it rains hard there won’t be much hours to work due to trailers not coming on time. Your job won’t be one hundred percent secured unless your a receiver and there’s two sides on the doc loader and receiver then there’s scanners forklift drivers leads supervisors and so forth.
Pros
Shift with most cargo sent out receives food and chance to win a prize
Cons
No fans for the summer.

Chief Officer (Current Employee) –  Norfolk, VAMay 11, 2019
The job is demanding.
The Navy, the Army, MSC, USCG, ABS, and internal audits are never ending.
ROS in Beaumont?
You might as well be on the Moon.
Going home on a weekend isn't a thing.
Lots of pressures, things that MSC has to fix, like vessel systems, maintenance beyond the scope of what a ROS crew can do.
Pros
The pay isn't bad. It's just that you're doing an FOS job with ROS pay.
Cons
If you care, and you're working with people who care, there is no "work/life balance" thise words have no meaning.

Marine Chief Engineer (Current Employee) –  World wideApril 23, 2019
Huge company with many vessels, but, unfortunately, with too many management levels. Generally nice work place, but with excessive quantity of paper work and this quantity doesn't drop. It's too many innovations over last years, which we not properly tested/checked prior releasing.
Pros
Insurance for employees and their families
Cons
Too much paper work

Minus my manager, good place to work
Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCApril 21, 2019
My manager was power hungry and obsessed with time and numbers. The quality of the work was not at the top of the list as long as calls were taken, the clock matched up with our schedules in the computers and cases were closed quickly. My manager also refused to stick up for us by setting boundaries with other departments, making customer service the team that had the most dumped on them. Manager also made it hard to move around, very territorial. The company itself offers nice benefits and a casual dress code. Most people were very nice and helpful.
Pros
PTOs
Cons

Live, safe and environmental friendly.
Ship Chief Engineer (Former Employee) –  DenmarkApril 11, 2019
Maersk line assures a healthy working environment to every employee. Typical day at work starts with concern of safety in all the aspects such as personnel staff and machinery, including the whole ship in general.

Maersk line is living in a contemporary world and looking ahead by keeping their expectations beyond the goal. Every day learning a lot such as new projects, targets and implementations. The cost factor comes second at the presence of safety and the environment. As an environmentally friendly company, Maersk line always maintain their standard far beyond the minimum legal requirements, making sure to have a minimum effect to the environment due to their day to day activities.

The clear and precise standard system make me easy management. GSMS (Global Ship Management System) provides all the required guidance and procedures for conflicts free smooth management.

Work place is highly diverse with various cultures but speaks in one language (English). Work generously, respecting each other.

Due to the concept of minimum stay at ports and maximum stay at sea, finishing port work required to make engines ready for departure. Hardest part is doing essential surveys and maintenance of major engine parts within the limited time. This is a real challenge and everyone on the team must have to work really hard to reach utmost efficiency.

Most enjoyable part of my job is receiving an appreciation from superiors at the end of the day.

Analyst (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCMarch 20, 2019
Worked with Maersk for many years, but the last 3 years under new management was unbearable. So much so that when it was announced that the job was relocating that I felt nothing but relief. Happy about the end of my career there and never looked back.
