If you were in charge, what would you do to make Mariano's a better place to work?
I would first stress communication among the managers to the employees. I think communication is a key, and treating employees with respect as well.
At least 12. Mgt. Can cut your hours Willy nilly, if they feel like it. Don't complain or they retaliate by cutting. I get 21 or 22 sometimes.
I would be honest, and open as to what you are looking for, and what your goals would be before applying at Mariano's.
The actual coworkers are pretty nice. The management, on the other hand, depends. Department managers are pretty nice too, general management is where the term "unfriendly" comes to mind.
The people there are many individuals that still have childish mindsets no matter how old they are that just comes from being in the retail environment and the type of people that typically work in this sort of field.
Honestly, employees are already dropping like flies (there's currently a mass walk out of people and I'm part of it) and customers hardly come in unless it's a holiday or a huge promo is going on (ex. coupons for free stuff). The general management has the ability to turn it around and make Mariano's better and an actually workable environment but I doubt they will utilize that power and will just continue to watch employees leave.
