CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (Former Employee) – Columbus, OH – June 13, 2018
Mariner Finance was a great place to work, I just wasn't very comfortable with the loan business. Collection calls weren't bad, but soliciting money to the delinquent accounts would save the account but further in-debt the customer and I didn't agree with that portion at all.
1 hour lunches. Had lunch at your desk if wanted. could your desk feel close to home (pictures, heaters, foot rest, snack drawers.)
Great place to work, learned very much about financial solutions. Excellent management, easily accessible, and open to ideas. Customers can be difficult at times, but that more so a part of the lending business.
The overall work day is the same but if sales, loans, and delinquency numbers are low you will be scolded until you reach standards. Upper management doesn’t help much with goals except sending emails asking you your intentions on loan goals. Some employees get their way with doing the bare minimum and the remainder of the work is left up to you. A lot of collection and sale calls.
Got a chance to interact with great customers.
Long hours, no incentives, no sick time, working end of month to collect.
