I was called by the front desk manager and he left a message. I tried for two days to call him back and I was finally able to track him down to get an actual interview. I felt like he didn’t really want to interview me. He had little eye and appeared as if he didn’t really want to interview me. His assistant was polite but she gave me the same kind of vibes. I was interviewing for the front desk position and they started to ask me if I would want to work in any other position. I really could tell they didn’t want me from the very beginning. I dress well and I did shower. I speak very well as I have two college degrees. I am older so I’m guessing it may be that I’m 55 years old.
I just wish they could of been honest with me. I was more than qualified and very available to start work immediately. I never felt so unwanted during an interview- ever.
I have given up on Marriott in the Pittsburgh area. The other location in Mount Lebanon will not even call me to interview. This other location simply refuses to follow through for some odd reason.
If you were in charge, what would you do to make Marriott International, Inc. a better place to work?
Cut favoritism out and promote employees on work ethic instead of people sucking up to management.
The most offensive thing that I ever experienced professioanally was receiving a raise from Marriott. 2% after a year. 21 cents at the time.. I felt completely degraded! I resigned shortly after.
Work environment was a fun place could be hectic at times but overall I enjoyed bri g there
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Marriott International, Inc.? What are the steps along the way?
There is an initial interview and drug screening, followed by a 30 day paid training
I dread everyday that I have to come here to work. Everyday it's something new with this company. We are consistently understaffed, and the customers are often treated poorly because of this.
What advice would you give the CEO of Marriott International, Inc. about how to improve it?
I think if they treat all employees equally no matter what or we’re they work there will be nothing but happy employee’s and everyone will get along and your guests will love to stay and always come back and give good rates to the hotel
