Marriott has wage caps. Once you hit the cap, no more raises. You have to go union to get a raise.

I've been with the company for less than a year and have established myself as the go-to member of my team. My strategy coming in was to the best in my position once I outshined everyone in my department I began jumping into other departments when they were short staffed without being asked to. I even had my manager fighting with the engineering manager over me. Once I got the recognition I put in my 2 weeks notice and that was my first raise of one dollar. At that point I worked even harder and when the higher-ups would visit I stroked the egos of the ones I could and had them talking about me with the rest of them. Recently I got a second job and asked for less hours. After a week of this they came at me with another raise two dollars this time. So if you work hard and play your cards right at the same time you can negotiate a raise in almost any situation.

I've been a Banquet Captain at a Marriott hotel for over three years. Our mgmt turnover rate is staggering...5 GMs, 4 Sales Managers, several Catering Managers, 5 F&B Directors,
and the list goes on! For two of those years, we have not been able to keep a Bqt Manager or F&B Director. Meaning, I have ran the entire dept on my own and kicked butt doing it. I have also been only one who has stayed and toughed it out through this chaos. Haven't seen so much as a penny raise in all this time. Obviously, loyalty to the company means nothing to them. Actively seeking new employer where loyalty is appreciated and wages/advancement is based on merit.
