WIC Counselor (Current Employee) –  Plymouth, INJuly 5, 2017
Rewarding job helping moms and their children succeed at having a healthy lifestyle. Lots of opportunities for continuing education. Very closely micromanaged by higher-ups. Work/home life line is blurred.
Pros
Continuing education, flexible hours
Cons
Mandatory work at home, stressful superiors

Breastfeeding Peer Counselor (Former Employee) –  Guntersville, ALJanuary 14, 2016
A typical day of work would be making calls and talking with moms about breastfeeding. I have learned to listen and appreciate women as they go through child bearing and post partum experience. Management would always listen to employees. Hardest part of the job would be when I had to call a mom who had a miscarriage, but always an opportunity to give our support as health care facility. The most enjoyable part of the job would be seeing healthy babies and proud mothers!
Pros
Women receiving close attention and help
Cons
Low number of hours (about 15 hours a week)
