good job poor management
WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE (Former Employee) –  Conroe, TXMarch 22, 2019
Terrible management who doesn't care about anything but cases in and cases out. More product moved means bigger bonus for the regardless of the employees concerns. There are many forms of favoritism being shown at this work location. If you are not in the right circle OR a silent sheep then they will target you and make you day quite difficult. Known harassment issues as well.
Pros
Great pay!
Cons
Everything except the pay.

Class A CDL Driver (Current Employee) –  CTMarch 16, 2019
Staff is very controlling and forcefull. It was not a good experience to work with the agent from columbia, il. None of them were very nice and they were very prejudices toward female owner operators.

Got my initial start in customer service here. This company is a fairly decent company to start in. It has warehouse, office, transportation and management positions to learn from.

Pay is decent plus all the over time you want. Started as a Order Picker in the freezer then got moved to the dry side. Majority of the employees gossip and treat new coworkers like you don’t belong there! Trained for 2 weeks then you’re thrown to the wolves. Stay away from the Conroe facility it’s a lot of favoritism at that place.

Pay, Overtime, 2 15 mins breaks & 30 min lunch

Not worth it
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Mason City, IAFebruary 14, 2019
Martin Brower's managers were almost all inexperienced, and only cared about productivity. You will be constantly timed for any task like picking orders or loading trucks, and if you fall just minutes behind you will be written up. Their expected times are unrealistic, especially when other problems to deal with arise and when you are forced to work up to12-16 hour days consistently.
Pros
free pop in break room

demanding hours, no time off, stressful environment

Management is not on board with association
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FLFebruary 13, 2019
Rules change according to feelings leaders are not professional most advancements are base on favoritism not by experience or education. The morale is very stressful and hostile anyone outside of that building does not see the problem That excludes corporate office

The job started off great. Then they added another vender to the already congested dock. Construction was completed to add more space which really did help cause the new hires get in the way...scared to ride the jack which they have been trained on and signed off to complete the training which causes the vets to work harder and faster to try and make production some numbers

Full-time is beneficial if you can get it. Work as a casual does not allow for personal time.
Material Handler/Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Tolleson, AZJanuary 30, 2019
Starting off as a casual, which as basically working as a paid internship, can be hard and stressful. You have no set schedule and usually work 6-7 days a week, work 10+ hours a day. This usually causes conflict with trying to have personal time. There are no pay increases and no benefits as a casual either.

If you are able to achieve full-time, then things become much easier with a set schedule of 4 days a week, 10 hours a daybwith full benefits.

The work culture can be laid back but can also be stressful and counter-productive. It depends more on who you know and who you get along with.

Seniority is treated as everything by full-time employees and abuse it for their own gain and some use it to spit others.

Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Fairfield, OHJanuary 12, 2019
Seniority-based, I work at MB for 4 years and was still at the bottom of the totem pole. Management didn't care about you unless you had sonority, which was understandable. I've never seen so many people come and go, it was even hard for me to take new people seriously, best part was the coworkers, no matter how long or bad the day was, everyone still joked around and had fun.

Pay
