Assembly Worker (Current Employee) – Hopkinsville, KY – March 5, 2018
Martinrea is a demanding job. Although the work environment is hot and dirty, it's safe and laid back. Great co-workers and leadership share communication to ensure all parts are produced efficiently and timely.
Production Worker (Former Employee) – Hopkinsville, KY – March 1, 2018
Okay but stressful the trainers will help you the best they can but if you have a situation at the job with another employee every one will know about it because management does not hold up to confidentiality
Assembly inspection (Former Employee) – Hopkinsville, KY – February 24, 2018
There was a two tier pay system and many of the newer employees felt it was unfair and it created a lot of anxiety and mis-trust on the production floor.
It seemed to be routine that employees with long service I.e. higher pay, more vacation days were the first to get terminated often resulting in a work force that was really unaware of how the floor should operate.
Shipping Analyst (Former Employee) – Shelbyville, KY – February 24, 2018
Everything I learned about my position at Martinrea , I taught myself by trial and error while doing the job. I had absolutely no on the job training. Martinrea's management does not treat their employees fairly or equally. If you were friends with them then you could go far,but if you were there to simply do your job and not to stroke egos then you have a short lived employment.
Line worker (Former Employee) – Manchester, MI – February 9, 2018
The supervisors and management don't know what they are doing. They ask regular co workers how to do things they should have been trained for. Very unorganized place to work. They don't tell you in advance that you have overtime, they just say we have overtime when you get there or fired. I have children and that's to hard to do that. At the becoming they tell you all these great things but it's all lies. They don't give you the raise in 90 days like they tell you. If you have family there and they don't do well they discriminate against you or the next person that's family. It's like high school in there drama and bunch of perverts working there. Very uncomfortable! The o my good thing is they give convicted felons a chance! Please don't work there, other great places to be. Just have to search little. Not Unionized so if your sick and you call out and you've already worked overtime, they don't pay you for it even though you've already worked the time. That is not fair.
Working in a automotive manufacturing facility was a great leaning experience. I learned and PLC ,VFD, controls pneumatic systems roller conveyor Learning how to machine on a Lathe and a Mill. It was the most family oriented and friendliest company I have ever worked for and the hardest part of my job was having to leave that company. Going to work on a Daily basis was great
Assistant team lead in press shop (Former Employee) – Shelbyville, KY,40065 – January 23, 2018
Catch parts as they come off conveyors, sweep and mop, help keep areas clean. Worked on assembly line. Most of the staff are friendly, some of the union reps need to go back and learn what a union reps job is. But there are a few good ones there. Family and friend oriented. It's really an okay place to work
Machine Operator (Current Employee) – North Vernon, IN – January 17, 2018
Good place to work overall. Management is good but it seems like when you get in there it is hard to advance up. Patience is key but if you already have experience or education and can't afford to wait, at the bottom, I would suggest elsewhere.
Good workforce, poor structure, failing infrastructure
Quality supervisor (Former Employee) – Shelbyville, KY – January 15, 2018
Hard working employees who are dedicated and driven. Quality Valued Mindset by most. Positive atmosphere among teammates. Union Shop, which has ups/downs. Management culture very separated. Turn over very high. Communication failures from corporate level to Plant.
Employee Relations, weight room, break areas
Out of date equipment, forced overtime, no stability
