Server in Atlanta, GA

The favoritism and inconsistencies in the kitchen and host stand are the most difficult things about this job. Its not unusual to run out of clean silverware or drinking glasses mid dinner shift or for the dishwasher to break down. Triple seating is common on busy days, efficiency and time management is important. Lunch shifts tend to make 40 to 50 dollars unless you stay late. Dinner shift averages $100 on the good nights it can be closer to $200. There is alot of opening and closing sidework to do. Its not unusual to leave after 11pm when the restaurant closes at 9. Most servers get 4 tables.

very fun atmosphere. It is very high volume and very demanding. The management can show favoritism at times but as long as you show up and are not tardy and do your job well you can make a decent amount of money.

Don't apply if your sensitive. Its like gladiator school.Very stressful position, compensation is trash, and you'll want to quite everyday. You'll loath going back during your off days.

The turn over rate is incredibly high, I was told that my first shift by several other employees. They all told me how messed up management was and it only took me a week to find that out. I told them at my interview I wasn’t looking for more than 20-25 hours a week because of health issues and ended up with almost 40 my first week. No organization. No direction from management, they were just as lost as the employees it was my first hosting job and I was in no way properly trained I was cat called on a daily basis by male employees, nothing was done. Another male employee that was 20+ years older than me got my phone number off the schedule and was texting very inappropriate things, made the working environment way too uncomfortable for my taste
