Completely and legitimately investigate the nurse/patient ratio while factoring in the level of acuity the patients require. Shelbyville does not consider acuity as a factor, the only view includes profit, period. Number of patients assigned to the Rehab unit is neither prudent nor reasonable. Management prefers to blame the employees that want to help improve the situation, stating any variety of bogus and unfounded reasons as to just why they believe it's anyone else's problem except the individuals truly responsible. Patients suffer everyday under the current management with no hope for positive change. Management needs to be cleared, starting at unit managers all the way up, and replaced with caring, reasonable, and knowledgable staff. This dramatic action will be the only way Shelbyville ever improves.
