Loved this place
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) –  Wallingford, CTDecember 23, 2018
I thoroughly enjoyed working for Masonicare. The staff on my floor were team players and very helpful when needed. I would go back in a heartbeat. I worked with the geriatric psychiatric population and there was never a dull moment.

Lacks support from management / negative work culture
RN (Current Employee) –  Wallingford, CTNovember 22, 2018
I’ve worked for Masonicare for close to 10 years as an RN. The culture and mission has changed drastically over the past 2 years. Little support from management/ understaffed. Unappreciated/low compensation. Culture is to pacify. Management is reactive not proactive . Poor retention for nurses. Not the worst place but there are better opportunities for nurses in area.
Pros
401k, pto plans
Cons
Poor management, no room for advancement, short staffed, low pay rates

Registered Nurse (Former Employee) –  Wallingford, CTOctober 9, 2018
Needs more advancement within the nursing education and empowering nurses at the bedside to bring evidence based practice and advance clinical skills within the hospital units. Management should listen to staff at the microsystem level because improvements at this level will enhance patient care and safety which will improve patient outcomes and also make staff happy.

Railroaded Out Of There
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) –  Wallingford, CTJanuary 19, 2018
Falsely accused, and they retaliated against and fired when identified HIPPA concerns. If they don't like you, you're out of there. Don't work there.

Decent new grad job
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) –  Wallingford, CTApril 28, 2017
a good job to get your foot in the door as a new grad. There is room to grow but if you want experience such as med surg then seek a position in the hospital. Masonicare does have an Acute Care Unit which is very educational and knowledgeable to a new RN.

Stay away!!
RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) –  Wallingford, CTSeptember 5, 2016
Patient to nurse ratio, sometimes 30:1, sometimes 60:1. Yes, you read correctly: 60:1. Very short staffed, males and female patients share bathrooms, no air conditioning on some floors, no dinner breaks, poor management, supervisors unfriendly, broken or no equipment necessary to perform job, redundant paperwork, no secretary to answer phones, residents often get sick with terrible food, computer system outdated and slow.
Pros
Decent pay, decent benefits
Cons
Must work most holidays
