Mastercard is not a tech company. There is a reason why you have not heard of something entirely innovative, fresh and new coming from the company in the last 10 years. They acquire innovative companies and kill the culture.Start your career there and leave in a year

Great place but not good for career progression or promotions. Busy. Lots of meetings. Global company so often have very late or very early meetings.
Administrative Assistant in KANSAS CITY

The on-site Director was very supportive during my employment. The administrative duties differed from day to day, which meant it was a challenging and learning on-the-job opportunity. Some of the tasks included making arrangements for meetings, travel arrangements, setting up various refreshments for staff, and monthly reports. Additional duties included answering phone calls, preparing documents for meetings, and managing the calendar of their supervisors.Every day brought a new challenge, and I continually learned a new procedure, reconciling purchase card transactions or preparing for a company meeting. Never the same day twice, so the job was not dull. The Director encouraged taking in-house online courses available to staff during downtime to develop skills for future opportunities. The position was a challenging role, and I developed skills I use today, including time management, updating reports, and coworker recognition.

Pros: Good benefits, good flexibility with schedulesCons: Compensation nothing to brag about; sometimes, teams can be very rigid in terms of rules/processes; management likes things done a certain way and if challenged, doesn't always receive that feedback well.

MasterCard is a great place to work overall with great 401k match and culture. However, there’s a loyalty penalty - they do not keep their long term employees salaries in line with the market. Also, the red tape and bureaucracy was ridiculous. Projects are often severely underfunded and understaffed. Work life balance impossible with offshore meetings in India and a 2 day in office mandate.
