IT is managed with hostility and fear-based leadership.
You are given no budget, a skeleton crew and are expected to deliver projects NASA would be proud of.
If you are not fired as a scapegoat like I was, you will end up on FMLA like everyone else when your health falls apart due to always having 200 projects that are pressing and 1/10 the necessary staff to carry them out, all while budgets and costs sit unapproved on a VPs desk, who will ask you every other month how said project is going and then yell and slam his fist on the nearest table when you explain that nothing has been done since nothing was approved.
This is a great company to work for, the c-levels are great people, but the IT department is where careers go to die.
I was lucky enough to be fired, do not be like me, do not ever start here.
