Great place to work

Great place to work! It would be nice if they got with the times and offered remote positions for customer service and other admin positions. Fair pay, amazing benefits.

A really fun place to work! All supervisor, administration and employees are awesome.

I'm a current employee of Mattel in Jonestown Pennsylvania and have worked there a little over a year. I do security and the supervisors and site supervisor are awesome and extremely fair. They are all retired Pennsylvania State Troopers with a lot of knowledge. Pay rate had just increased so the pay is decent. Benefits are beyond fantastic with 2-3 weeks paid vacation available after 90 days. Plus you get a 5% bonus after a year. I highly recommend working for this company!

Pros

Benefits. Pay, great employees with occasional catering for lunch.

Cons

Can be extremely busy, some overtime, extremely slow on weeks.

There's another business too much politics.

Good company like it made me learn a lot about being very cognizant about other people's feelings and what you're saying that you don't say and barriers and limits

Pros

Benefits

Cons

Some managers can be power hungry and forget about the team

Great pay and benefits

Mattel has great pay and benefits. Mattel has great child care and a women's gym. Poor quality workspaces, very small and cramped. Great short-term disability.

work life balance

It was a childhood dream to work at Mattel. I was lucky enough to work there for nearly 10 years. I loved mostly everything about the company. Mattel understands work-life balance and gave us half day Fridays all year long. The pay was competitive and the benefits were great. Im trying to get hired there again now.

Pros

half day Fridays

Cons

Layoffs

Best Metchandising job EVER!!

Working directly for the manufacturer is so much better than working for a merchandising company. Job security is higher and the benefits are AMAZING!

Pros

Job security

Cons

Increasing Territory is difficult. Limited Hours

Fast work, good pay, not the best supervisors

At times, supervisors didn't seem like they knew what they were doing and the job is pretty boring and repetitive but good pay for what you're doing.

Pros

Good Pay, company dinners

Cons

Very fast pace, little patience for messing up

great seasonal job for extra $$$

seasonal position as a merchandiser. job is fast pace retail environment in which you stock product, make sure shelves are set to store planograms, help customers out with product questions.

Pros

flexible hours, easy work

Cons

seasonal, no benefits

Great flexible part-time job.

Great company. Flexible position going into retail stores to manage accounts. Pay isnt great but the flexibility helps balance that. Job changes hour according to seasons. Full time hours during Q4 and intermittent hours rest of year.

Pros

Flexible

Cons

Pay

Great company, terrible processes

My job was to pick product via a clamp truck. The product was unskidded and sitting as tall stacks in the warehouse. There was bare minimum organization, and zero accountability. Piles of damaged product and stacks of product laying all over the place, fallen over into other bay locations and mixed with other products. Very unsafe driving lanes and poor pick system. Bad inventory management system. Spanish was the primary language at my location, unfortunately I’m not able to speak it. Working 5-7 days a week at 10 hrs a day. Only good thing about the company were the pay and benefits.

Great Benefits

The benefits are amazing with great time off. I enjoy the team and the work but wish there was greater work life balance. Long hours at time and management does not provide any compensating time off or other benefits for the extra work hours.

Family oriented; Great people; poor leadership

The product was fun. The people were fun. The process was not fun. There was a lack of decision and leadership at the upper levels. They offered a lot of holidays which was nice for families. Compensation was good.

Pros

GREAT people!; family oriented; fun product.

Cons

Poor leadership

Great company

Mattel really takes care of their employees. They offer a lot of high quality benefits, lots of vacation time. The company culture is very rich; there are many internal corporate events and people are very, very friendly to each other.

Facade

Stressful environment, who stretches employees thin, wants employees to work and do multiple jobs with no extra pay, long hours and days of working intensely.

Great hob

Was one of the best jobs I ever had we got yearly bonus pay was great 401k . Most of the year was Monday- Friday over time during Peak. Was rarely mandatory so you didn’t have to fill Committed

Flexibility

Excellent company to work for, management is easy to work with and open to any issues you may have. Flexible with any schedule conflicts. Downside is that it’s seasonal, and they need you to work many hours during Christmas season. But it’s a great company to work for, pay is fair

30+ creatives beware!

Girl creative management does not value more senior (older creative employees, with a wealth of experience and proven, consistent talent). If you are not moving up, they will eventually want you to move on and out. If you do not, often they make the work environment very unbearable and undesirable so you will leave on your own accord possibly by slowly making you go mad. Examples, such as by reducing your work space office over time, removing benefits and work perks, and having you reporting to managers that once reported to you. Smiling and stroking your ego all the way. Also forget about leaving for maternity leave. Often women would come back to a work structure in which they lost seniority for no other apparent reason except they were gone having a baby, and someone else seized on their job. It would feel like starting over for many, and many strides backwards for women in terms of developing their creative careers when having a baby, or starting a family. However, flip side, if you are a young talented emotionally mature person (no kids) just out of school with an underdog story and come from a diverse background, Mattel is great for you. You must be savvy at creative social media and willing to promote the company. Don't get me wrong, It is a great place for you to gain experience, meet great hardworking people and peers, but beware of senior management!! do work to then move up with them (work to get promoted), or on (different department), or out (leave company), before they view you as obsolete or stagnant in any aspect of your life there. Which, can take -

Temp

The general labor is not hard work so for that I will not fully complain about the pay rate but to compensate your employees and management working in a climate controlled wearhouse with NO A/c and only 15 min breaks. Not to mention the take u through what’s consistent of 3 days work of orientation process before you even clock in on tour first day to begin making money. And then when you do start working they ALL PF A SUDDEN don’t have any hours for everybody an staff is limited due to the project due so they pick an choose who to give the house and money to rather than be fair. HORRIBLE COMPANY.. HORIBLE JOB.HORIBLE PAY..THE SIGNS ARE HERE PEOPLE DO NOT IGNORE THEM‼️

good place to work at

Always fair and very health environment. I was able to better my skills as a forklift driver. A lot of workers were good people and would help whenever they could.

Every manager has your back.

Every manager wants to help you succeed, and the job is structured specifically for this purpose. Everyone permanent here here is pleasant and respectful, and most of them are good listeners who just like working for a company that wants to spread joy. The extra benefits are great. The commute can be brutal, and I have to leave an hour before my shift. They are strict on swiping in and out, and their paid time off, or even unpaid is non-existent for some workers...
