GR8 question! Our pre-employment experience typically starts off with the completion of an application on our Careers website at www.mattressfirm.com/careers. After submission, a Recruiter will review your entire application based on the requirements of the position. If your qualifications align with those of the position, the first step of the interview experience is typically a brief phone interview with the Recruiter. We hope to be able to review your application soon!

The lack of consistency. Too long of hours you will have no life. You will work from open to close 10am to 8pm and 12pm to 6pm (sundays). There is no balance with this company and its a lot of issues going on in headquarters. Be prepared for Saturday meeting starting at 7:30 am and then have to work a 10 hour shift on top of that. It's all about money here I really don think they could care less about the people.

One of our Store Managers out of Pittsburgh answered your question perfectly: "They end up getting a more expensive set, then you will get paid more. Same goes for the other way. They get a less expensive bed, the Company and you will lose a little bit. That's why its important to follow the Buying Process they teach you in training. Finding the right mattress the first time and setting proper expectations with the guest will help with returns and exchanges."

We'll set you up for success during your training so that you're able to help a guest discover the sleep solution that meets their needs during their first visit to Mattress Firm.

You won't need to worry too much about it since it almost never happens. The salaries listed on here seem way too high. You'll almost never get comission. As an Area Manager with over 4 years at the company, I'll tell you the truth about wages. Manager on Duty $34k, Asst. Mgr. $36k, Store Manager $40k, Area Manager $48k. Could vary slightly. When you calculate how many hours you work vs. the payyou will be depressed.

Yes. It's like working at a gas station. Everyone is some type of "manager."
