Good

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
My position was super easy and had great pay. My recruiter was very nice and helped me lots. However, it would often be difficult to get ahold of her. Coworkers were alright, very cliquey, and had lots of drama. We would get free catered lunches every day, which was great.

Pros

Free lunches every day, pay

Cons

cliquey coworkers, contract position

Management does not care

As long as you remember it's about your patient/family and otherwise just a paycheck it's ok. Don't expect any warm fuzzies from office or management.

Kind humans with a soul.

Maxim is a wonderful company to work for. The recruiters are a gem. Maxim employees are courteous, kind and willing to advocate for you. Maxim is a throwback to an age where loyalty meant something.

Great, Flexible Job Opportunity

I love working at Maxim because it gives me opportunities to remain flexible with my work schedule. I have had multiple opportunities to train on higher level skills and increase my knowledge while at the organization. My patients and their families are also amazing, making it a great work environment.

Great staff but really horrible benefits

The management/office culture is non-judgemental, the recruiters and supervisors allow you to function autonomously, without micromanaging. It offers a feeling of workplace flow, freedom which is fantastic. They allow a lot of flexibility in work assignments, while at the same time attempting to find you the best matches, if you desire continuity of particular clients. I feel the pay is relatively competitive. The one area that is a huge sore spot for me is benefits. They're pretty horrible. When I joined them, I just missed out on qualifying for Major Medical health insurance. A high deductible plan costs about $450/mo. You'll have better options at the healthcare.gov site, honestly. They changed the PTO policy to 24 hrs a YEAR, *if you qualify. And they won't match any donations on your 401K. However, if you are an "internal" or corporate (office) employee, they will have a matching contribution for your retirement, you will qualify for major medical health insurance, and PTO accumulates differently. The nurses don't have access to the same benefits. The benefits nurses really desire (and need) aren't offered. This is hardly fair, but these are the "improved" benefits, you know.

Pros

Friendly, professional, non-micromanaging, office staff. Flexibility in scheduling, trying to accommodate your preferences/needs out in the field..

Cons

Sharply scaled back benefits for nurses, treating internal corporate staff different than nurses working for the agency.

Decent pay, steady hours

Benefits are expensive and non existent. Not many options to choose from. Management has been great for me but i heard it can be a hit or miss, I just got lucky.

Not a great place to work

Management puts way too many responsibilities on recruiters. Very selfish environment. The pay is not close to even being enough. Very unorganized environment. Recruiters are blamed for almost everything that happens regardless if it is on them or not.

It was okay.

I did school nursing. It was okay. But they definitely try to low ball on pay, in addition they didn't care how far they had me go out from my city to cover a school.
