Enjoyed my time at MBI as a DSP

I Absolutely enjoyed my time at MBI as a DSP. I Kept my Client Busy. We did water aerobics, volunteer at Bread for City, went to the movies, went to the Mall. The best part about was I kept my Client happy and in the community. Everything was funded to be inn the community. Weather if we took public transportation or MBI van we got there. If working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is in your heart you would love it just as much as I did.

Very smooth environment to work

I just love how much I every one wanted to help me learn as an intern. I was able to be open about my concerns as an intern and no one judged me which helped me to feel free as I asked questions.

Poor management

Lack of security protocols that would protect employees, lack if direction and understanding of work roles, “desperate for employees” because of a high turnover. There’s a reason people leave almost as soon as they come.

NO micromanagement. The bosses are understanding and patient.

I am able to work at my own pace. NO pressure and the supervisors do not abuse their power. They are kind and courteous. Thats the most important factor.

Contacting and engaging clients to reflect work productivity and client compliance. Networking strategies, collaborating and establishing healthy relationship with external stakeholders, how to document, effective and billable documentation through use of language, how to engage clients, time management, etc. The management team was highly competent.. The workplace culture was more client focused due to community based related relationship building. The hardest part of the job was to engage clients, and the most enjoyable part of the job is being able to establish a trustful relationship with the clients. no pay raises, no promotions even if your work is "examplary"
