Technical Support Engineer (Former Employee) – Plano, TX – January 17, 2019
Daily calls and remote sessions with Enterprise level customers, including DoD and banks, and their IT staff during working hours and after-hours for sometimes high severity issues, resolving them as quickly as possible.
Great customers and employees are mostly all great to work with
Tier 3 occassionally gave "push-back" with rhetorical responses.
IT Project Manager (Current Employee) – Plano, TX – October 1, 2018
The company is focusing on preparing to go public and most resources are focused on that effort. Projects have been canceled and layoffs have occurred. Many controls are relaxed or non-existent due to lack of intellectual properties after the Intel spinoff.
Flexible hours, great benefits, many great people and great potential.
Technical Support Engineer (Current Employee) – Plano, TX – September 4, 2018
The culture and the people are great. Management is horrible.
Changes made by upper management do not make any sense and it's obvious they knew nothing about any of the people working for them when they made organizational changes.
They consistently reward those that shouldn't be and overlook those that should be. Essentially people who are not good at their jobs are rewarded, and they consistently take work from non-productive employees and dump it on the those actually doing their jobs.
There are really good managers, but unfortunately they are surrounded by other managers that are not.
Don't plan on getting promoted unless you are part of the "buddy system".
Management attitude is that they could care less for any of their employees which translates to poor employee attitude.
Main reason for staying are co-workers. There are some very talented people here. They all have great personalities that unfortunately now have poor attitudes because they are unappreciated and overworked.
Unlimited PTO, Good health benefits.
Good people are underpaid, bad people are overpaid
I enjoyed my time at McAfee. It was a very fast paced environment with lots of travel, both in the USA and abroad. The salary and benefits were very good and one got the opportunity to become prosicient in many areas.
Manager (Current Employee) – Plano, TX – April 24, 2018
McAfee recently spun off of Intel with new management and it is totally different from the old McAfee prior to Intel. Micro-managment from the top down, no trusting their employees, continually taking away benefits and lack of advancement. People are being laid off and leaving on their own due to management.
unlimited PTO, currently free drinks and some food
poor management, lack of advancement, lots of turnover
Great place to work, but recent changes brought instability
Executive Customer Assistance Team (Current Employee) – Plano, TX – April 5, 2018
Great place to work, but recent changes brought instability that leaves fear in ability to advance career. Management across teams are not aligned in creating balance for company and consumers, creating further conflict.
Account Manager (Current Employee) – New England – February 1, 2018
This organization, from a go to market strategy, just can not seem to get it together. In 3 fiscal years, there have been 3 sales strategies and they still have not figured it out and I have had 3 managers. The culture now that TPG has bought a %51 stake in the company, is deteriorating. Marketing lacks and the channel program is truly fulfillment only. There definitely is a culture of the good old boys/girls club as managers play favorites.
Decent benefits, decent products, people are overall good to work with
