I can't really stand working at McEntire anymore in my life.
Reserved Worker (Current Employee) –  Columbia, SCSeptember 24, 2017
There is nothing enjoyable about that job ever and has never been while I had worked there for a year and 9 months. It was fine working there for the first 5 months, but things started to get worse,My migraines rose exceptionally while working, rushing myself to quickly put boxes on a pallet, and the entire concept of waiting around(mostly for an hour) in a 30 degree cold factory for 9 to 10 hours.Mostly the workers who are not supervisors or assistants or the manager don't really like how the company treated us "grunts" during our shifts. If all of us found a better job than McEntire,McEntire would be closed down for good,
Pros
Absouletly nothing.
Cons
Slow progression of my paycheck, we use to have 45 minutes for lunch, but now 30

A typical day at work is very cold and tiresome.I learned special skills such as handling a pallet jack. Lots of gossip and not enough people being productive.

Time
Shipping Coordinator, (Former Employee) –  Columbia, SCJuly 27, 2017
This company was a company that you know your time to begin, but the time your day may end. You may go in at 8 am and not leave til 4 am the next morning, but you must be back at 8 am that same day.
With me I was traveling 55 minutes to work, 55 minutes from work to turn around and leave home on time to be back at 8.
Pros
a job
Cons
wear your body out

Good people, fun, great pay, can get overtime-excellent pay when you get overtime
Sorter/Packer (Current Employee) –  Columbia, SCJune 5, 2017
I really enjoy working here. Everyone gets along and the people are great. They just increased the hourly rate which is above any other job I have had. If you get overtime you pay check is really big.

The production floor is cold, very cold. It takes time to get use to the cold.

They are adding employees due to new business.
Pros
Pay, people, they promote from within.
Cons
Cold

It's an ok job to help pay the bills
Box room worker (Former Employee) –  Columbia, SCMay 24, 2017
My review of this job is that they need to do better by their employees. The job was doing there was labeling, printing and folding boxes. They're not reasonable people they just want you slave and not pay you for the extra work they want you to do

If you just need a job until you find another one then this is the place for you. Other then that it is definitely not a place you can make a career out of. You are bound to have poor health and the hours can range from 4 to 18.
Pros
You have a job
