Orbital Welder in Hayward, CA

If you want to get into welding this is a good place to start. Management isn’t the best. But the work is decent. There are a lot of safety hazard and doesn’t seem to be getting better and basically being swept under the rug. But beside all the bad, there are some good reason why you should apply.

Great place to work. You get what you put into it. Stay focused, do your job and communicate with management. Lots of opportunities if you apply yourself.

There are many areas of improvement to address: 1. There is a lack of communication internally and between different MDC sites. 2. There is a lack of professionalism 3. There are no processes in place, no good training, or IT on site during my time there 4. They do NOT show employees that they are valuable 5. There is High turnover It’s clear that the company only has focus on the numbers and not the employees. There is no investment in the people, and no incentives for employees to stay. Working here is ok, until you realize you will NOT get trained properly AND be expected to produce quickly and accurately. People will get upset with you for things out of your control, and you will hit a glass ceiling in the development of your position. The people who work here are generally nice, but it’s obvious that they are also unsatisfied to a certain degree. Only work here if you are VERY desperate, or if you need something temporary and you're ok with disorganized company structure, or if you just need any money and are willing to deal with dysfunction. If you are looking for fulfillment, to have piece of mind, and to be treated professionally and with respect, explore other options. Recommendations to Company: 1. Get IT representative on site, even if it is part time or "as needed". 2. Begin to set and document processes for each position. 3. Clearly define roles and consolidate work to the employee. If there are multiple people doing different aspects of a person's job, it creates confusion for the employee and is very disorganized. The person is not able to do their job effectively because of different information coming from multiple sources. After a trial period and proper training, effectively transition the employee into doing the full scope of the job they were hired to do. 4. Get professional managers/train managers to instill processes, lead effectively, while encouraging good employee moral. 5. Have proper communication between work sites, most times employees don't know what is going on at other sites etc. 6. A company experiencing growth, does not equal to a company incapable of doing anything else. There are many companies out there experiencing growth and the growing pains that come with it, and they do not neglect everything else required to run a company. Stop using growth as an excuse as to why the company is lacking in ALL other aspects.
