Job was easy, residents were not, management was not

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Worked for Meadowood in two different capacities. First as a dining room server. In that capacity the job was good. They'll hire 14 year olds and the pay is good, just cannot accept tips. The second was as a groundskeeper/maintenance person. Generally were looked down on by other departments. Management in all other areas never seemed to hold the department in high regard and it was very much reflected in their pay bands. CEO will come out to shovel and put on a good face when there is inclement weather, but otherwise you will barely see him unless he's trying to help sell another house on the property.

Pros

Easy job, decent hours, good stepping stone job

Cons

Not a career unless you have several degrees

Not enough help.

I believe that the MC is run like a long term acute care facility. There is not enough help on the floor . Communication is very bad . There is a very high turnover rate no one is trying to understand why.

Pros

Working with residents.

Cons

Not enough help.

productive place to work

Work-life balanceWork-life balance at Meadowood Senior Living is ok as long as you come on and do your work and stay to yourself. Not to much of team work with everyone. The residents are very nice.

Entertaining

I learned alot about cooking and caring for elderly. Each and everyone of the residents had their own preference, along with what they would and wouldn't eat or drink.

Great team, caring manager

Working in the Fitness and Wellness department as a lifeguard and personal trainer has been rewarding both in building relationships with the residents, and as an employee of the company. Great supervisor and team.

Not worth the stress

Upper management is not transparent at all. No support for the health center staff. DON is sneaky and childish wants everyone to get along. That’s doesn’t happen in real adult life. Some nurses are helpful while others are rude and self centered, never help and pushes off any work then can onto the CNA. Stressful environment, feel like you walk around in egg shells, lead CNA needs to act their pay scale.

Meadowood is Home Away from Home!

I worked at Meadowood for 4.5 years. The community was always welcoming and full of activities for staff to participate in. Staff gets discounted meals, access to pool and gym, and frequent holiday parties, picnics, and prizes. There are a lot of incentives to do your job well and management is available to talk to for advice or help.

13.50 an hour

This place sucks, The DON is the worst. At what age do you need to retire? This place has the worst staff ever. All I can say is, what goes around comes around.

Understaffed, stressful

This place is declining. They have a high turnover rate. Poorly staffed and management don’t seem to care. They don’t appreciate hardworking employees who have been there for years, and do a lot of overtime. The teamwork is great on day shift. On Second shift the nurses don’t help answer bells. The work environment is very hectic and stressful.

Pros

Residents, guaranteed hours

Cons

Understaffed and stressful
