The questions you ask are dependent on so many variables that it's difficult to generalize and give a specific answer. Some companies have very strict requirements and others not so much. Sorry, I do not mean to be vague however some variables that need to be considered to give you a accurate answer are as follows: The company, their hiring policies, is the job related to heavy truck or heavy equipment, legal liability potential on the equipment being serviced and repaired. is the environment unionized or not, state, provincial and local requirements, job responsibilities, drug screening requirements, availability of mechanics in the region, wages offered, and company reputation are a few that come to mind. Please feel free to contact any of our recruiters at Mechanics Hub and we would be more then happy to assist you with any further questions or perhaps we may have a opportunity that may be just right for you. We have great respect and gratitude for those that have served their country.

Typically any positions that specify "on call" usually refers to 24/7 unless otherwise specified. These positions tend to work best for people without commitments that could impede their ability to be available on a moments notice.

Ensure you do research on the company you are interviewing at which shows interest and engagement. Show up on time for the interview or preferably a bit early. Have questions ready to ask the person doing the interview. Make sure you and your cloths are clean and presentable. Do not smoke prior to your interview as the smell of cigarette smoke is offensive to many. Make good eye contact and be sure to smile when appropriate. Listen carefully to questions asked to ensure a thoughtful and intelligent response. Sit up straight and try to be enthusiastic about the opportunity and company. Be prepared to answer behavioral or performances based interview questions. Sometimes these questions can be difficult such as "tell me about a time when you did not get along with a coworker" or "have you ever had a boss you disliked?" "Tell me why and how did you handle the situation?" Finally, likability is too often underrated. When 2 candidates are equally qualified the person making the hiring decision will typically hire the one they "liked" the best. When interviewing, try to be likable and always put your best foot forward!

Do research on the company prior to your interview. Have good questions ready and show up on time for your interview. Our interview process is rather informal as we do our best to make our interviewees as comfortable as possible. The goal is to see people in a relaxed manner as opposed to a highly stressful interrogation type interview. .

About 2-3 weeks from initial interview. This typically allows for a 2 week notice period to a current employer and another week for the candidate to make any necessary changes to their daily arrangements to accommodate for the new position. Our goal is to make the transition and on boarding as seamless as possible.
