great culture, smart people, good learning environment
Mid level (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJanuary 4, 2018
lots of opportunity, ability to work with senior leaders is available for all levels, Ideas are always welcome, motivated and career minded people do well - it's a hands on, in the weeds environment, everyone works up and down, no egos and the entire NY office clears out by 7pm!

Lack of Resources
Integrated Planning Supervisor (Current Employee) –  New York, NYNovember 16, 2017
Lack of resources to compete as media agency in a competitive field. Company does not invest in resources and it is extremely evident. As a result of limited resources, employees hours are spent on menial tasks rather than making valuable strategic recommendations.

not a great place
n/a (Former Employee) –  New York, NYMay 24, 2017
not a great place. tough to break through. Backwards thinking with old school media mentality. Definitely not a right step towards media and execution is quite old.

Good place to gain experience
Digital Media Planner (Former Employee) –  New York, NYMay 15, 2017
It is a smaller advertising agency which allows you the opportunity to be cross trained by different departments. For an entry level position you have more exposure to clients than you would get at a big agency. Great people and fun culture!
Pros
in office happy hour every Thursday!

Great hands on experience working with senior leaders
Planner (Current Employee) –  New York, NYFebruary 22, 2016
At other larger agencies, you do not get near the exposure to senior leadership and guidance that you receive at Media Storm. Senior brainstorms, client contact and new business opportunities are available to all levels. Really great place to learn the ins and outs of media.
Pros
great culture, senior leaders know who you are, promotions from within
Cons
Not all of the resources of a larger agency, but it is fun rolling up sleeves to make sure everything gets done

good review of media storm
Planner (Former Employee) –  New York, NYFebruary 4, 2016
i had a good experience working at media storm. the agency is mid size and i was able to work with senior management that i wasn't exposed to at other agencies i've worked for. i was also able to contribute to new business pitches and other projects when i was able to. the people are GREAT and really smart - they are what i'll miss the most. the benefits are good, time off was great, summer days, good culture (weekly happy hours and other activities.)
Communication could be improved for junior level, but it's a little better now with the hire of the new CEO.
Pros
happy hours, lots of free food, and great people
Cons
the open environment is a little noisy sometimes - hard to concentrate

great work life balance
Planning (Current Employee) –  NYC, NYDecember 11, 2015
agency is mid size but runs like a family company - work life balance is great for working parents. the company culture and moral are good, and i've seen a huge change in the way employees are valued from when i started a couple years ago.
Pros
open door policy to executives at every level
Cons
office is small for the number of employees, but they're just adding more space now

Media Storm Review
Finance, Information Systems and Reporting Manager (Former Employee) –  Norwalk, CTNovember 13, 2015
The company is always in a state flux. Clients and executives are always coming and going. Directives as a result always change and work that is priority one day is often left unfinished the next due to a new priority.
Pros
Good benefits package and PTO
Cons
A lot of office politics and favoritism.

Accounting Administrator (Current Employee) –  Norwalk, CTFebruary 12, 2012
Media Storm, LLC was founded by former employees of Time Warner Cable. They left to form their own agency after the AOL Time Warner merger. Media Storm applies innovative and strategic plans to help generate brand awareness. Many of their clients are entertainment industry leaders. Media Storm has partnered with an in house graphic design and advertisement production studio. They are a very youthful company, with no real central administrative authority. They have grown at such a rapid rate that policies are neither established nor adhered to.
Pros
fringe benefits, travel perks, steady promotion and salary advancement.
Cons
highly disorganized, no checks on spending, weak leadership.
