Some people you work with are good, others I wouldn’t let do an assessment on my dog. Management is awful. Pilots were always good and made safe decisions. The company is definitely not stable and has closed 3 bases in one month. The pay is barely at average which is disappointing considering the amount of certifications and responsibilities you have.

This company is trying change the culture of the air medical industry. They have experienced a lot of turn over in the past 2 years both in clinical and in leadership (needed to happen). Their vision is very “educational” driven and they have great clinical instructors who are experienced and knowledge. As a smaller company you never feel a disconnect from administration, who is also very transparent. I have worked for two other air medical programs and wouldn’t go back!
Pros
Education and training is exceptional. Leadership is honest, respectful, and willing to do what is necessary to ensure we are all successful.
Cons
Pay could be better.

This company is really great. They helped me through many advancements. It’s a great christian company that I was proud to work for. It saddens me to read these reviews! No company is perfect and they don’t claim to be. I was successful with this company!! Unfortunately I had to leave for medical reasons but they have helped me out tremendously!! Management was great to work with!!!!

DOM allowed an EMS helicopter to fly for months without complying with mandatory AD's. He only has 4-5 years total experience and somehow was hired as a DOM. He is dangerous and very inexperienced. This shows you how management makes decisions- hire the cheapest, most inexperienced people you can find and hope everything goes well. The maintenance dept. is overseen by a pilot that knows nothing about maintenance. They refuse to provide recurrent training for their mechanics. They hire base mechanics with zero helicopter experience. STAY FAR AWAY from this company!
Pros
Great co-workers
Cons
Management with zero knowledge of the business

Management can be distant at times. Fellow crew members are good to work with. Nice equipment to work with. Overall good experience with this company. Flexible work times for me since I'm PRN.

The job and coworkers are not the problem. Expansion too fast and too far away made for uncontrollable cluster that ended up with spread out places with little management. No trained managers. No education opportunities. Unfair pay. No overtime pay. Complete disregard for safety. Some good pilots others are dangerous.

MARC was a flexible workplace. Greatest risk is the likelihood that a base could be vacated with little to no notice to its employees.

Many opportunities are provided for education and training. They have many highly skilled individuals. Continued training and verification of skills is constant.

Management is toxic. Turn around for staff is extremely high for a reason. Training is poor, treatment of employees is poor. Staff is constantly changing and management does nothing but bad mouth previous and current employees. They will work medics several days in a row and don't pay overtime.

Management is horrible they only look out for themselves. It's like a fraternity at the management level. You don't get all your vacation time when you cash out they only pay 80% keep 20% for the company. No overtime pay! You can work 90 hours a week and only get straight time. The Regional Manager is an idiot, no idea what he is doing. No respect for employees.

This place would be great except for management. The regional manager and base managers are terrible people. If you do not provide the “service” or know someone you might as well work somewhere else.

Only the favorite people are allowed to work specific shifts and bases. And the parent company allows all this behavior because they would rather ignore this behavior than face the horrible management choices.

When employees are afraid to speak to a manager alone without someone present or something recording the meeting, there is a problem. When upper management continues to allow base managers to belittle employees, pilots, medics, emts, there is a problem. The female employees are treated very differently than the male employees.

Very poor management here. And remember management can also leave reviews of the company.

As a rebuttal to the previous comments on this page I would like to give my opinion. Management is nothing like any of the poor reviews state. My personal opinion is that these are people that no longer are with the company and probably did not leave on good terms. I am guessing that they weren't doing the job that was required and were either asked to leave or were given the chance to leave without being asked.
Management does a good job and even though there may be a lack of communication at times, employees need to become more involved in the company and ask questions.

The company, or management, will make decisions and attempt to get employees involved, but at times those employees are not involved in what is happening within the company just because they choose to be that way and then it seems that it is "the company or managements fault".

If you want to work for a company that looks to the future and is growing then this is it, If you just want to show up to work your shift and make money whether you fly or don't then this is probably not the company for you. If you want to be involved with the future of a company that is trying to make a difference in patients lives with good staff, good and progressive guidelines and an opportunity to be someone, then this is the company for you.

Don't believe what you are reading in the previous, bad reviews, as these are just disgruntled employees that wanted something and weren't willing to give back.
Pros
Good advancing company, benefits are getting better, pay is good for the areas served

What to say about this company....horrible management and management that seems to be the only area anyone is concerned about. There are far too many levels of management for a company this size. Growth and greed have become the priorities. Everything is micromanaged and the line staff are at the bottom of the priority list. Employee retention is ridiculously low. Less than 5% employees stay 3 years. That's nothing to be proud of.

Hiring practices are poor at best. This company is proclaiming to be "Setting the Standard"....you don't achieve that by hiring people with little to no experience, poor skill sets, hiring for being someones "friend" or relative or simply because they hold the title of RN. Pilots often hired without experience in the type of aircraft being used or medevac experience. Flight medicine is NOT the place for "just a butt in the seat" mentality. Patients deserve far better than that.

Rules change on a daily basis and change depending on who you are. Don't expect honesty or consistency from management, especially upper management.

The only good thing I will say is that there are a few really good paramedics/RNs there that provide excellent patient care. Hard part is that these caregivers are being chased away by the horrible management or getting tired of all the poor caregivers hired in and not being held to the same standards.

I believe in getting experience, but in my opinion....find a better way.

What can be said about MARC? Well there are some amazing people that work there. And some totally incompetent ones as well unfortunately. Depending on the co-workers you will be in heaven or heck. The company is trying to improve, but still has some incredibly toxic upper management. Employees have regularly been threatened with termination "because they are only employeed at will in this state." Verbal harassment isn't uncommon

If you want to break into flight, it's not a horrible place, but their three year retention is less than 5%. That kind of speaks for itself
Pros
Busy flight service with lots of critical patients
Cons
Toxic work environment, toxic upper management

Upper leadership micromanages everything from the top down. High performers are tamed on performance and silenced on bright ideas to help improve customer service, safety, training etc. Low performers are easy to control and are thus rewarded and catered to. Job requirements, you don’t have to meet them. People have been hired on the basis “two letters R.N.” Other things to consider are the firings without cause, and upper level management that uses intimidation and aggressive foul language at employees. It’s somewhere to get hard and fast experience, however there are better options available.

I love working with most of my co-workers. Management is another story- negative/double standards/providing false hope. Managers can be very miss leading with their presentation.

Good people at most locations. The company is struggling to transition from a family operation to a larger company. Some managers to new positions work to hard at justifying their place and end up micro-managing.
Benefits could use significant improvement.
