Accountibility and Willingness
HR Coordinator (Current Employee) - McKinney, TX - March 24, 2020
Featured review
Medical City Healthcare selected this as a representative reviewI have previously worked at HCA for almost 20 years. I came back after almost 2 years from my husband's transfer in his facility in another city. I missed HCA and their core values. I talked to former HCA employees at my previous job (not HCA) and they felt the same. I feel like I am at home and VALUED. That is the most important thing as an employee. I have the support of the whole team. My leaders are exemplary. I love that they are accountable and have a higher standard. I thank my leader all the time for hiring me back. I cannot say enough about my career...

RN Staff Nurse (Former Employee) - Denton, TX - May 27, 2023
I was relief charge nurse. Although we had patient assignments, we all worked together as a team. My biggest frustration was we had difficulty keeping adequate supplies. Supplies we needed to provide excellent care for our patients was a challenge.
Pros
great teamwork
Cons
staff sortage

Ummmm
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - Fort Worth, TX - May 25, 2023
Not a bad place to start, but not somewhere to stay. Mostly it's a mess. There are really good providers and some nurses that are super good to learn from and work with. The biggest factors for me, was management doesn't care about you and they focus on the wrong things. But as long as you look out for yourself, it's not a bad environment to work.

Management lacks communication
Phlebotomist (Current Employee) - McKinney, TX - May 23, 2023
Working there was good until management started showing their true colors. Lack of communication and favoritism run rampant there. New employees are often bullied by the vets but management really does nothing about it, making it a toxic and uncomfortable working environment.

Great team work
Mental Health Technician (Former Employee) - McKinney, TX - May 21, 2023
Night shift team is almost all great to work with. Got floated to sit a lot which can be very lonely on night shift. Would work there again. Good as far as psych facilities go.

Human resource is very approachable and helpful. Colleagues are also helpful and easy to work with. Company is growing and hiring more healthcare providers.

Negative environment
PCT (Patient Care Technician) (Current Employee) - Dallas, TX - May 18, 2023
Environment can be toxic. Full of people who do not allow growth as a nurse/tech. Hard to move up in the environment as well. Lacks training as a whole and needs more staffing.

Short staffed, no management, lack of updating
PSA (Current Employee) - Dallas-Fort Worth, TX - May 17, 2023
There’s shortages everywhere. The people you work with really makeup for the lack of management. Hiring process is confusing. You either have a great team to work with during your shift or a bad one.

Jobs at Medical City Healthcare
Needs a lot of improvement
Staff Nurse (Medical Telemetry) (Current Employee) - Plano, TX 75075 - May 17, 2023
Always understaffed. Not enough patient care techs and phlebotomists. Nurse has to do other people's job because of understaffing. As a result, nobody stays in their role for long. Fast turn-over of employees. Overworked.

No real complaints
MRI Technologist (Current Employee) - Denton, TX - May 17, 2023
I've worked at several different hospitals and outpatient clinics and I'd probably pick this place over all of them. It has pro's and con's like everywhere else.

Management could improve
Patient Care Assistant (Former Employee) - Dallas, TX - May 16, 2023
Coworkers are really nice, but management and the way the unit functions is lacking. There tends to be favoritism towards certain employees. Also, management does not promote teamwork.

Understaffed
Patient Care Technician (Former Employee) - Dallas, TX - May 10, 2023
Good hospital to start working as a tech. At times they were very understaffed. There were suppose to be 4 techs on the floor I was working on. At times they would have 0-1 tech. If you were a tech on night shift then you were the only one there.

Registered Nurse, women’s services
Registered Nurse (RN) (Former Employee) - Arlington, TX - May 8, 2023
This place is a zoo and those in leadership don’t need to be. They don’t have the clinical nor professionalism that the positions require. You will be placing your license in jeopardy . The place is full of travelers bc retention is nonexistent. The doctors treat you poorly and talk to you disrespectfully

A busy atmosphere with almost no support from upper management but everyone embraces the suck and most work very well as a team.
Travel RN (Former Employee) - Las Colinas, TX - May 5, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? My coworkers and the patients were the best part of working at Medical City. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Management was the most stressful part. Most of them only cared about money. It's very unsafe to have 1 LD nurse with 3 patients, but it happened a lot. Our manager was actually great but the one above her only cared about money. She didn't seem to care that we were over worked. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Despite the troubles with upper management, my coworkers stuck together. There was very little gossip and the charge nurses were mostly very supportive. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy. The patient population could be needy at times and if we had a lower nurse to patient ratio, we could have supported them better.

RN (Current Employee) - Fort Worth, TX - May 3, 2023
Not a bad place to work having worked for less than a year. Leadership is friendly, house sup-love the energy especially on nights. I transitioned from “a different position” and to this hospital- have to say it has been awesome:).
Pros
Positive Environment
Cons
Pay- can be better

It’s ok
Respiratory Therapist (Current Employee) - North Richland Hills, TX - May 2, 2023
Pay isn’t competitive. PRN rate is tiered depending on commitment. Commit to 3 days for highest pay but no benefits since “prn”. Turnover can be high due to the pay rate.

Not bad
Registered nurse (Current Employee) - Arlington, TX - May 1, 2023
Decent place to work. Good company to get some brand new nurse experience before moving on. Management is a problem and is the hardest part of the job.

Good
Registered Nurse (RN) (Former Employee) - Weatherford, TX - April 29, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Working, staff and assignments. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Staff not helpful. They just stopped calling me for shifts. I would tell the charge nurse that I was available but calls to schedule me a shift. So I had no choice but to stop working for them. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Stressed, work worked. Lots of call. What is a typical day like for you at the company? So go in and start to get my room ready, pull for my cases. Go check pts chart for correct concent and then talk to pt.
