My time at medical speciality distributors was limited due to a back injury. It’s a fast paced warehouse environment that isn’t cut out for everyone..

Productive Day Job.
General Labor (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXAugust 3, 2017
It's a overall good job. I got the job through a temp service called Accurate Personnel, located in Irving Tx. My pay started off at $11.50 per hour, Guaranteed 6 Hours a day. You would gain a dollar extra if you were to go full time.
Pros
Raffles, Paid Lunch Every Now & Then

Very disorganized Management is awful
Credit Analyst (Former Employee) –  Stoughton, MAJuly 21, 2017
In a span of 14 years company was bought and sold 4 times. 5 different credit managers and at least 3 different CEOs. Always bought by investors in which there only concern is money. No concern for employees and how much they have invested themselves in the company. Have seen many wonderful people just let go after many years of service.
Pros
Good Benefits
Cons
No Employee appreciation or concern

Fairly quick-paced but easy-going workplace, safe, generally well run. Not the best compensation package, but with the good overall work environment, no serious complaint.

Would recommend accepting a position there if asked.

MSD is a terrible company. The raises are below average. You will only advance in this company if they like you. If you need a job and are not looking for career advancement and need benefits this is the company. The management has no training or experience.

It was a very easy going job. A good workload and the times were excellent. I worked there for there years and knew how to everything still no promotion or anything. At times felt threatened about my job security if I didn't work overtime that day. Overall a good job just a bad management staff in the warehouse

MSD is behind in times. Although there are good intentions behind every action, the company seems to be pulled in multiple different directions, felling more like chaos while resulting in enough orginization to grow the company.

It's effort in customer service is great while most other functions within the company (finance, operations, and sales) run pretty freely with general supervision.

There are those who stay at MSD for years, and what seems almost like they are in it for life. Some get in and decide to leave quickly, and of course there are some who stay between the two extremes. This causes a sense of security within a very friendly environment.

The work environment is not strict which also makes it an enjoyable work environment. The lack of structure still causes issues in efficiency and causes frustration. This should be changing as the newest owners are looking to create more structure within the organization.

Good work environment and employees
Warehouse Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Smyrna, GAJuly 26, 2013
Works starts at around 6:00 AM for receiver/stockers. Receive previous days POs and current days POs delivered up untill 02:00 PM. Get product stocked into its proper bins locations. Receivers pick all backorders pick tickets received with established receiving bins locations. Order picker/packers/shipper arrive at 10:00 AM and start picking/packing/shipping all pick ticket currents staged for packing, awaiting picking, and printed up until 4:00 PM the current day. Daily Warehouse Summary numbers are as follows: 280 order, 3.9 lines per/order, 64 units per/order, 600 small parcels shipped, 13 LTL pallets/shipped, 2889 lines received.

The medical distribution industry is a good industry to be in. The employees at MSD work hard but at times do get frustated with the decease of hours during most weeks. Starting pay is above average for a warehouse associate for the industry. However, upper management is clueless to what's actually needed to meet the demands of increased business and meeting their lines per hours (LPH) requirements. For instance, LPH number for scanner order picking will not be met utilizing manual order picking. This would lead to a lower LPHs and more quality error.

Warehouse supervisor position is a working floor position and a management position. To make sure that 100% of orders are picked, packed and shipped daily. Make sure that a 99.7% quality rate is maintained, manage the warehouse operations and administrative personnel request and issues.
Pros
Good people and good work environment.
Cons
Unrealistic expectation by upper management w/o provided the tools
