MUSC uses our pto for everyday that we are scheduled and on the days that the company is closed so saving up your time can be dificult when the department is closed several times a year.

The vacation policy was acceptable. I opted for a lot of overtime to assist with shifts that weren't covered. When I needed time off for doctor's appointments, etc., the time was available.

Salaried employees accrue 10 hours per month of annual leave and 10 hours of "sick time" currently in the University. Other entities of the institutions accrue PTO (paid time off) at a slightly higher rate but there is no separate sick time accrued.

If you work for the UNIVERSITY you receive 10 hours of "vacation" and 10 hours of "sick" leave per month which comes to three weeks each per year. You also receive 12 paid holidays per year.
If working for MUSC (not MUHA), employees receive 6 weeks annual/6 weeks sick leave per year. 12 holidays!
They start with at least a weeks vacation with accurred sick leave.
