Not worth the stress and money
Server (Former Employee) –  Schaumburg, ILFebruary 6, 2019
This is a very stressful job. The show is very fast paced and the meal goes in a very specific order. If anyone sits down late, it throws you off and you get very behind very quickly. Management is very poor. Servers are treated very poorly. Servers are overworked and often tipped poorly. It is commonplace to be stiffed, no matter how good of a server you are. There are many tourists from countries who do not tip, and many people who leave maybe a few dollars because they’ve already spent a fortune on tickets and drinks. Servers who work three shows in a row on weekends are forced to clock in early and take their 20 minute break before they even start working and are not given any other breaks. The average server only works one to two days a week because there are so many servers, unless it’s a holiday because every server if forced to work every holiday. I did not celebrate a single holiday with my family in the time I worked here. Highly do not recommend working here.
Pros
Free tickets

Fun short-term job, awful long-term job

They won't pay you well, management is lacking, corporate only thinks up ways to make more money rather than improve guest/employee experience.

Corporate says "add more shows to make money, but don't hire a lot of people, to save money" which means, you'll be stuck doing lots of work for very little pay. Everywhere you look, things could be improved, but thanks to bureaucratic gridlock between middle-management and corporate, nothing gets done.

They're trying to promote an anti-bullying educational matinee for school field trips during the day, already got plenty of negative feedback from both guests and employees.Does taking your 8th grade End-Of-The-Year field trip to a lame anti-bullying show sound like fun to you? I'd rather go to Liberty Science Center or The Smithsonian Institute - fun and educational. Medieval Times already had a fun and educational show about the Middle Ages that the kids and teachers loved and corporate yanked it. Not smart. Left this place for a job that at least has a few good minds working together at the corporate level.
Pros
Fun for the first few months, that's about it.
Cons
Family owned and operated, privately owned company, you do the math

This is the perfect job for a college student or those trying to rack in some extra money. Otherwise, you're better off avoiding this place.

At this job you are able to work with awesome individuals and management while making good tips as a server! I have learned how to work well with other people who are different than me. Everyone is very willing to help each other out and if you need help your coworkers will be there for you. The hardest part of the job is you have to be able to life heavy item (80 lbs) at the most.
Pros
good work environment, awesome management, seasonal

Fun workplace, very easy going
Server (Current Employee) –  Hanover, MDNovember 1, 2015
The environment is very easy going, staff are friendly and professional. The shows are crowded and hectic during the busy season which starts around January. The hardest part of this job would be carrying over 20lbs of food around the entire arena at a brisk pace without dropping it when people are steadily getting in the way. The most enjoyable part is giving the opening speech in the assigned section which welcomes the guest and prepares them for the evenings' festivities.
Pros
Fun environment
Cons
On call scheduling

A typical day at medieval is not a normal day because you have to get into character. The job is so much fun but can be a little challenging. You have to build muscle in order to carry the 30 half chickens that you are required to carry. The job is very fun and enjoyable!
Pros
Free food
