Fast paced, diverse & complex patient population
Registered Nurse (RN) (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - December 4, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedHigh turnover, parking is difficult at the downtown medical center location, it’s a teaching hospital and can get crowded on day shift. Decent pay and good benefits. Managers try to make improvements that are within their control. It’s always a very busy shift and will prepare you to be successful at any hospital if you decide to transfer.
Pros
Competitive pay and benefits, Highly recognized top ranking hospital that will give you lots of diverse experience.
Cons
High turnover rate, lack of resources, and teamwork needs improvement.

Toxic workplace environment, undervalued and under appreciated!
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - TMC - December 5, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The training, colleagues, and working closely with the MDs and other multidisciplinary staff. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Always understaffed and never feeling appreciated… always asked to do more with less. Felt like it was only the “bottom line” that mattered to leadership, not the staff or patients (including their safety). Feeling pressured to discharge pts before they’re ready to “turn the bed” and make profit. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work is stressful and toxic but I miss working with some amazing physicians and fellow colleagues who were passionate about what we did to help change lives for the better! (Not leadership) What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stress, no breaks,, worried about loosing my license because of being over worked and understaffed and floated to units I didn’t have appropriate training in… and pressured into silence if I spoke out about pt safety issues.

Not bad
RN Staff Nurse (Current Employee) - The Woodlands, TX - December 2, 2023
Don’t work CS if you want hours . I’m not sure what is going on with hours but they are not there. Definitely have a full time job as well or else you won’t make it

Patient Relations Representative (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - December 1, 2023
Amazing culture, very supportive managements. Multiple opportunities for growth. Working in this facility felt like working with family. Everyone on our floor was invested in their work and in eachother.

Average big hospital system
Physician (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - December 1, 2023
It's just ok. Recently increased maternity leave so that's a bonus. Doesn't really seem to really value primary care physicians. Offers little to no flexibility or negotiation in scheduling, work life balance does not seem to be of value to them either. Jumping through hoops as corporate systems do. But overall the system is ran okay, I don't mind working here, but it's not incredible.

Mostly great place to work
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - November 30, 2023
Leadership and coworkers very supportive. Orientation lasts as long as needed. As with most hospitals patient to nurse ratio is greater than best practices recommendations thus decreasing patient satisfaction.

Good environment
Medical Assistant (Current Employee) - Katy, TX - November 28, 2023
I love my coworkers. They make coming to work worth it. I feel that management could be better. The pay does suck and the raises are not any better.

Good management
CT Technologist (Current Employee) - Humble, TX - November 28, 2023
Radiology management is great , they are always willing to work with me , & the whole department works together. The thing I dislike about the job is lack of communication between the ER department and radiology & the fact that doctors carelessly place radiology orders on what feels like every patient, me and my co workers are tired of going back and forth grabbing patients , very busy workflow , & also it seems doctors often don’t follow the correct protocols which puts us other employees in a hard situation sometimes

Wouldn’t recommend
Patient Access Representative (Former Employee) - The Woodlands, TX - November 16, 2023
No work life balance, stressful. Management doesn’t care about its employees, as long as shifts are covered. Management has no integrity and isn’t honest. Upper management covers for the dishonesty that goes on in the work place. The patients were absolutely amazing, it’s not a company I’d recommend if you want peace and a sane mind.
Pros
None
Cons
Management, no work life balance, constant right ups but doesn’t check on staffs mental health

Horrible Managers
Registered Nurse (RN) (Former Employee) - The Woodlands, TX - November 16, 2023
It was busy but manageable; however, I had an awful manager who entertained gossip. If you are not in their clique, the undermine and insult your credibility.
Pros
Pay is ok
Cons
Toxic environment

Good employer
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - The Woodlands, TX - November 15, 2023
Good company to work for. Feel heard by administration and pay is fair compared to the market. The environment is nice and most of the staff is extremely friendly and willing to help each other

Became a place of fear
Unit Coordinator (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - November 15, 2023
I loved my job and culture until management changed and that was the problem, if upper management did not like something floor manager did or didn't do, upper management would get rid of them without notice or negotiation and usually not for the benefit of the employees working under them. It became a very unpleasant place to work...constantly fearing being fired

PCT (Patient Care Technician) (Current Employee) - Pearland, TX - November 15, 2023
Exceptional work environment, even on bad days im grateful to work here. The pay is reasonable for the area and we are always fully staffed. I love the management and we all work as a team to get the job done. It's more than just a job it's a profession.

Average pay
Clerk/Cashier (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - November 13, 2023
Pay could be better. In the position there is not a lot of room for promotion or overtime. The people are mostly friendly and I enjoyed working there.

Working on making it a better environment
Telemetry Technician (Current Employee) - TMC - November 11, 2023
Not sure what management does. Pay is not great and staff is difficult to deal with. Favortism shown to those that fit a certain criteria and they will receive better pay increases during annual reviews
